If i post at the top of the list it makes it seem like i'm posting something important. but i'm really not lol
Seeing as I can edit this post myself, I just had to be on top of the world!!!! I am with the others though on this, what would be the reason to allow others to edit something you posted???? Neat idea, just not wrapping my head around the concept of it... maybe it is just because the meds are kicking in to knock me out for the night????? (theweave)
Test Test...Awesome!

Well isn't this skanky.
how long til we make it skanky?
I'd say about 5 more minutes and it will be skankalicious.

its cool but it seems you can erase what someone else put. is there any way it can be made to add something but only a mod or op can delete?

This would be very benefical in several of the forums. Would it apply to all threads created? I like this idea to be able to edit the first post, however I would suggest that it must be an 'add only' and members can not delete any prior members message. I also think a date and/or time needs to be added and also for ease of reading, knowing when a message starts and ends, perhaps a line could be added inbetween each message.

So let me explain here what is going on
I noticed some threads on SC are very famous and the first post usually needs continuous updates and collaboration. A good example is list of save.ca coupons, points, prizes and radio programs like swagbucks that have keywords, etc.
So I thought to myself... why not make the first post of these threads a wiki? That way everyone can edit it and add to it, everything will be easy to update and locate and we can collaborate to make things better on SC.
This is the first step towards my campaign towards making SC more organized and easier to use
This thread still works like a normal thread too. So any feedback or ideas to improve this are welcome

This is a really neat idea boo... It should helps keep things organized! I still think adding a chat room somewhere would keep the forums alot cleaner. There are so many regulars on line all the time that if someone needs to ask a question, they can do it live. with a mod, or even a knowledgeable member. Just an idea

this will be good especially for the Deals Of The Week thread, so no one can get mad at CCMP for not posting the deals fast enough...

Yep it will work great for threads like the weekly deals too
I already told ccmp about this in a private message and she will be making her weekly threads a wiki!
Also as you guys can see the revision/edit history is visible to everyone. This is so that no one abuses this feature. If you see someone removing useful content or trolling you can let me know and I would revert to older good version ;-)

I'm a little confused on the details. So, for example I up keep the Pampers GTG thread. With this new system it would mean anyone could go in and change things on my post? If so, is it obvious who is changing things? IE, will it look like I'm updating it or will it show who actually put what? Also, what happens when people wipe out someone else's work (ie, some people hit EXPIRE by accident, I'm guessing there will be even more errors).
Sorry for the questions, just dont get the concept I guess.

Will it be an option to make your thread a wiki or will it be by default?
I can see it being great for some posts but not for others

Cool idea...
Can you make the "view edit history" section show what we added as well? currently it just shows our names and pics...but it would be good if it showed what we added or deleted ..incase information was taken off when it shouldn't have ? or we wanted to know who added what?

Good questions!
Only if you edit your thread and make it a "Wiki thread"
Normal threads can't be changed... only ones set as wiki. And even if you set it as wiki you still keep authorship of the thread. So as you can see for example I am still the author of the first post although many people have edited it.
Yes it is very obvious: click on "View Edit History" you can see all the edit versions.
It would always show as if you updated it but if you click on "Edit History" you can see who exactly edited what.
Since who is editing what is public information, anyone who tries abusing the system would get caught right away.
You are still the author of the thread. No one can expire it but you.
