2 nights ago I picked up a new friend. A 4 yr old male Lovebird.
This lil man wasn't used to being picked up and was very scared.
I am proud to say with constant work the last 2 days he now knows step up, comes on me, and will kiss me. I thank God for animals, I sure love them
Can't hold my new snake until sat Or it will stress her. Any other animal lovers on board? This thread is currently associated with: N/ALF: $ 4.00 off any covergirl, 2.00 axe,RLF ARMSTRONG cheese, black diamond, 3.00 gain. 2.00 Majesta. Have 5.00 walmart gc.

I love animals too, although I prefer the furry ones. That's great that your bird is starting to trust you. So you have a snake and a bird. Anything else?
Oh and do you have a camera so you can show them off to us?Last edited by abbasgirl; Wed, Feb 9th, 2011 at 08:52 PM.

love birds - esp lovebirds - such fun little characters
You are doing a great job getting him to trust you - sometimes it takes many months

Ohh..I had a snake once (coincidently our DD 'bought' her for me for 25cents when she was in grade 4 or so...and she's a Snake in the Chinese calendar)....she was a garter snake, lol, but she used to be curled around my wrist when I read, and peered closely at the page (you'd think she needed glasses!)...when I wanted to turn the page, I just gently tapped her nose, she'd pull back, I'd turn the page and we'd resume our reading! LOL!!
We finally released her because I got too sad feeding her live crickets...
Enjoy your birdie and snake!! Photos, please?

Well, you are on the other end of the "animal-lover" scale than I am. I don't like indoor birds and I'm afraid of snakes! But I appreciate that you are giving them a loving home!

Good for you! Enjoy them! What kind of snake? My son has been after me for over a decade to get a corn snake for him - but the dude can get one for himself when he moves out!
We are a fur-only kinda family - currently all feline.
Pics, plz!

I love them all, even though I don't have any. Right now I have enough trouble taking care of myself. I would love to see pics of your animals friends.

Eew..eek. I'm terrified of spiders..and scorpions aren't my thing either I'd be scared they would sting me.. But good on you for loving all animals ... My sister has had snakes and geckos and bearded dragons as pets for years. I myself would love to have all kinds of animals ( furry) as pets, but I currently only have 3 cats and a dog. Sadly neither my ex husband or current husband will allow me to have goats, that's what I would really love to have.
In the past I have had pet ducks, flying squirrels, guinea pigs, birds, chinchillas,
and a rat as pets. One day I'd like goats and a donkey.Last edited by Litesandsirens911; Wed, Feb 9th, 2011 at 10:18 PM.

I love the furry animals but not the reptile or insect kind. Birds are okay but they do scare me when they fly around the house. I had a canary once and gave it to my MIL. Good for you that you can care for all animals.

Totally love animals. Am a member of my local shelter so have a monthly standing donation.
My old and trusty dog comes from a shelter and all of my pets over the years have been rescues.
That said, I am pathologically and irrationally terrified of snakes!“It is the mark of an educated mind to entertain a thought without accepting it.”
