I have always put my coupons directly on the product that I am using them for and try to save this for the end of my items so I can see them taking off the coupon, but lately, I am rethinking this. I have had about 3 shops lately where a coupon has been missed or even "eaten" by the belt, when I put them on top. Since I shop with my 19 month old daughter who is usually "done" by the time I get to the check out, I need to entertain her and can't always see everything the cashier does. I always check my receipt before I head out of the store though, for SCOP and to make sure the coupons were taken off, and have noticed a couple times lately that a coupon has been missed. Now if it is more than one, I will go back to the till but I find it way too hard to keep my daughter happy and wait for the customer to be finished, plus the hassle from the cashier I may experience, just for one $1 coupon. So what do you do with your coupons?

PS I always give all my coupons at the end on customer appreciation days at Extra Foods/Superstore, to maxamize these savings, but I find it takes extra time for the cashier to verify I bought the right product and also, they seem a little ticked when I do this. I am not sure I would want to do this on a regular basis.

I usually only have a few coupons so I hand them before they start scanning the products. Most cashiers look through them/check expiry dates and when they see the matching product they punch the coupon in.

I usually put them with the product, however, doesn't seem to save any time. Every coupon has to be read and reread and checked and rescanned and price taken off and expiry date circled/checked. Takes a lot of time, but in the end it's worth it. Besides, not my problem if people are waiting behind me. If it was me at the end of the line, I'd be grumbling too, but we all have to wait in line somewhere in this world.

I always have a hand full of coupons and I always wait till the end most of the time they dont see them on top of the product and then there gone on the floor or where ever down the belt.. Sometimes I will run into a cashier who will say they need them with the product but 95% of the time its at the end.. I get pretty lucky with coupons most cashiers just take them off without even checking to see if there the right product or if there expired

it depends on where I shop. If i'm at LD then I put them on the product or next to it because with stacking the coupons can get mixed up and some LD CSR likes to enter the item then the coupons - 1 item at a time. So this saves time. If i'm at RCSS then I just hand the cashier my coupons at the end - yeah I don't want my coupons stuck in the conveyor belt.

Most of the time, I hand over the coupon when the cashier just scanned the product I have a coupon for. Or sometimes I tell her I have coupons and hand them to her before she starts scanning. Anyway, I don't use a lot of coupons at a time, the most I've used is 7.

In most cases, I've learned to give them first - and I'll point out any which may need a price written on them, for example.
There's nothing worse than to give them at the end, and the cashier UNbags the groceries to look for one particular item, sheesh!

It depends on what store I'm at. SDM likes them on the product. RCSS seems to like them at the end with the product they are for oherwise they make you dig back into your groceries to find it. Sobey's will take them all at the end and will look up the products if they are free or BOGO.

I used to hand them over at the beginning, but the last couple of months I have waited for the cashier to ring everything through and give me my total and then I hand them over.

I mostly shop at the same stores and they have gotten to know me well enough to know that the coupons I use are always for the correct product and within the expiry date, so they just deduct them off without rifling through the bags again.

But if I go to a store I don't usually shop at I hand them over at the beginning to avoid a hassle.

I put all my coupon products at the end of the line with coupons on top then I watch them all being rung in.

I always give the coupons to the cashier at the end. I have all the products with coupons last so it is easier for the cashier to see them. It seems to work for me.

As I shop I put the coupon under the item, in the cart. At checkout I put the coupon on top. I usually shop at Safeway and the cashier sometimes enters the coupons with the item, and sometimes they set them aside for the end. The main thing is that they see that you're actually buying the item. A cashier there told me that some people hand over a stack of coupons at the end but the item wasn't in their shopping. So they have been on the lookout for this, which is why I put the coupon with the item at checkout.

I place my stuff on the belt in order lol. Everything that is not PM'ed or has a coupon goes first. Then I leave a space, then place things that are PM'ed next with the flyers on top - opened to page with items circled in black. Leave another space then I put things with coupons & hand the cashier the STACK of coupons when she gets to that section. Works well for me.
