Now I am just totally annoyed by the whole thing and I simply change the channel...can't be bothered. And yes, manufacturers will catch on, rules will change (they already are) and there will be more and more stipulations put on coupons. I'm not buying into it anymore and refuse to watch.

Of course, that said, to each their own (not dissing anyone who does watch)
I am sucker. I still watch.
Once in a while there is a good episode. Chris donating the Washinton Mission in Pennsylvania, so that there would be breakfasts, was impressive. He paid 0.00 for the groceries and got fresh food for those in need.

Terrible show. You can't really compare store to store in different states.Carla I think was cheating with dishwashing liquids I think they were Dawn and she was doing 7 transactions when they only allow four per customer.Still having those dumb problems at the register. They don't even have the biggest extreme couponers Missy,Amanda and Nathan on the show.

I haven't seen the new ones yet, but all I can say beforehand is "oh vomit".

If this show wasn't gluttonous enough, now it's a competition? Ew.

Watched it tonight...much to my own chagrin. It was pretty stupid. More of the same old, same old.

One question I have though about the woman from North Dakota. In her words: "I deliver over 1,000 papers so I can get all the coupons I want." How? Is she taking inserts that should in inside the papers she delivers? Something fishy there....

Some people think if it's their job to deliver the papers, they have the right or privilege or are just plain entitled to take things that don't belong to them, just because it's part of their job to have access to it.

I have access to money all day. I don't steal any of that, would never dream of it. I don't steal anything. But I'm a reasonable person I guess.

There are perks to jobs, at mine I might get a peek at a flyer before they come out, and I might be able to have somebody hold an item I want for me until my shift is over. But stealing is not a 'perk'. I bet whoever hired her wouldn't be too pleased that she's doing that, but I guess she's not smart enough to know not to announce that she's stealing on internationally broadcast tv.

True, but does the Food Bank really need a couple hundred litres of Coca-Cola??? The rice and peanut butter were great but the junk food...not so much.

I don't know about anyone else but those two episodes made me want to watch Supermarket Sweep again...

Supermarket Sweep > Extreme Couponing: All Stars.

The one thing I liked about the show was how everyone but Chris rushed to get their stuff. His singing to himself and being slow was full of win.

I also watched the extreme couponing show last night. What a waste of time. It was ludicrous ... the yelling and the screaming. You'd think everyone was high on something, just made fools of themselves. And there sure was nothing to learn from this series.

Unless they were looking for another 15 min of fame, these couponers again were getting paid for it and for what and how loud to scream, etc.

I say this, because also last night I was watching Dr. Drew with Octo Mom. She admitted on that show that she and her mother were paid money to say certain things at an earlier interview just after she had the babies, and that her Mom was paid to say things to agitate Octo Mom, and O.Mom was paid to say certain things in response. Again, nothing is reality, most 99.9% of everything we see is "staged'. Same thing with the coupoing shows we've all been watching.

Mind you, if one uses common sense, you can pick out some legit lessons, but they were far and few inbetween. Just the lessons would not bring in the ratings, it was the craziness and "extreme" level that brought in ratings.

I came across a site this past weekend whereby the two twin ladies who bought so much baby diapers in last year's airing, yet one didn't even have a baby, were interviewed. And even they said what we see and what really goes on behind the scenes is like 2 different programs, therefore confirming that we shouldn't take for gospel what we see on those shows. They admitted that lots wasn't put into the show. One said that they were televised for 2 full days (24 hours), yet only 1/2 hour is what we see and then it's what, about 15 min per person, as they usually have 2 different scenarios per episode. So there again, what really is, is not what we are really shown.

I don't know what the extreme cheapscates will be like tonight, maybe some good suggestions, others maybe ridiculous also. But if the first show, extreme couponing that was on last night is a sample of their other shows, other than if there's nothing else on TV, I think there is nothing to learn from that show, other than to jump around and look stupid and scream stupidly around the aisles and at the counter. At least that was my take on it, but then again, to each their own.

Kate plus 8, etc has finally run it's course. I can't wait til any couponing shows will finally run their course, only so that the normalcy of constructive couponing will then get back into place and folks won't be screwed over as many of us have been because of the extremes that many couponers have gone to in the past 1-2 years, being ignited by the couponing shows for the last couple years.

Otherwise I reiterate what deevious wrote a few posts before me here. I agree.

Since we're talking TV programs, in other posts on here, Gail and Til Debt do us Part, and Princess series, I too have watched for staging. Some of it might be, but if you have watched enough of her shows, those people who really are in it solely for the $5,000 and don't intend to follow her advice after the show, don't realize when some of their supposed off camera words are caught on tape. I think she's had a lot of people who genuinely needed and would follow through after she was gone; but some were in it just for the cash just as we have some respectable and not so respectable couponers in this world. Her show is based on a formula and it's basic, isn't flashy, sometimes comical, but there's always a good message and if anything, it should be on TLC (seeing as that stands for The Learning Channel). Sometimes those who don't get the full $5,000 get ticked off and give her a hard time at the end of the show. I think her program is very good, down to earth, shows long term consequences, has good ideas and although similar yet has various ways of achieving good savings. I have nothing but respect for her program and even the way she handles the people, as sometimes they think they're pulling one over her, only for her to confront them with that.

I too agree it would be nice if they could do follow up programs on some of their clientele, much like Kitchen Nighmares has follow ups on their programs. In this way, we could learn from their trial and error situations since her show.
