I am thankful that we adopted out a cat with a heart condition, sweet sweet boy but the medication and costs were putting people off him AND we also adopted out 3 black cats over the last two days so YAY

Good for you, it's not easy adopting out black cats. I rememebr when I was 10 and we went to the SPCA for a cat I had my heart set on an orange tabby but they didn't have any but they did have about 10 other cats and 1 black one who I fell in love with. My dad said no because I already told him I wanted an orange one. So after much crying and nudging from my mom we went back a couple of hours later and they had ALL been adopted except my little black one. The SPCA guy told me black ones are the last to go. There's that stigma. He lived until he was 13.

p.s. Back then a cat was $5!!! This was about 1975.

awee...i hated black cats, I thought they were ugly..then my best friend's cat had a little black kitten born with no tail..everytime I went over he was snuggly..so I adopted him..he lived 2 years then got feline leukemia and the vet put him down..i cried for months. my husband took me out a few months later to the animal shelter and there were 2 little black brother kittens, so we took both. I would never say black cats are ugly again...they actually (to me, in my experience) seem to be the loviest ones. My boys are now 1 and I love them to bits...

I love black kitties too...I have 2 brothers as well, no tails! They are always overrun with black cats at the shelters and SPCA, that's why we got ours there..we have enough love to go round...(4 kitties and 1 dog)

I am thankful that I can pay it forward. I can remember what it was like to be in the shelter system and to care for some of the women there today.

aw why are black cats the last to go?!?! i LOVE black cats they are adorable we arent allowed to have pets though im allergic and dad doesnt want them with claws on the wood floors LOL and i wouldnt be able to have a cat declawed just creeps me out cause i know i wouldnt like having my nails ripped out so i wouldnt subject a cat to that either
i know you can get those rubber like nail things though they are neat
