Thread: Tint car windows
-

Hi,
I know there are alot of ladies on the board here and may or may know not much about cars, so I am going to ask anyways, for the people who does know. I bought and picked up my brand new white 2011 Kia Forte yesterday afternoon. I want to tint my windows.
I am thinking 35% in the front driver and passenger windows and 30% in the rear passenger and very rear windows. Anyone here experience 30% driving at night time? is it too dark?
What if I go 20% rear and 30% front? is that too dark looking out at night time?
Thanks,

Your first step is to check your province's highway traffic act or motor vehicles act -each province has different regulations. They deal with how much, which windows (some provinces don't even allow passenger windows to be done), etc.
Plus, it's not only if you can see out; some of the regulations stipulate that a police officer can see the occupants of the car and the interior of the vehicle.Last edited by Natalka; Thu, Apr 14th, 2011 at 12:39 PM.

Agree with Natalka
I have mine done....I think there is 10 or 15% on the front windows, the backs though are dark I think 30% - it was a year ago so I don't totally remember. For me I am well aware that Alberta doesn't allow front tinted windows, so if I ever get pulled over it is entirely possible that they will make me peel it off (and they do make you peel it off while you are pulled over). For me the risk to do so is minimal, the place that tinted the windows wanted to do our car sooo bad, that they said *if* I should ever have to peel it off they will happily replace it free of charge (thus making my decision for front tinting a no brainer). But check out your laws, and weigh the pros/cons
