About Metro - do they not charge taxes? I've used my FPC's there before and I payed tax, but that was last summer... so maybe their registers have changed

Got charged tax on all my FPCs last week even though they were entered as code 2002. Was calling HO about a diff problem so thought I'd ask about this as well. Was told this is an error & tax should not be charged on cpns entered as 2002. Asked me to fax my receipt & they will contact the store to have their register corrected. Hopefully HO will check or inform all SDMs. Wonder if this is a programming problem due to the new registers?

That's right Ice Cream doesn't have tax in the first place ..so even if there is an error in their system for code 2002 ..they shouldn't have charged you tax ..even if you are not using a cpn there is supposed to be NO tax on Ice cream

That's right if the FPC says on it taxes included ..otherwise they can charge if they want ( I think ) ..provided its a taxable item in the first place

I'm so confused about the tax issue, I had FPCs for Secret and I had to pay tax, P&G said it was law that shoppers pay the tax, as did the cashier at SDM (ON)...but it seems to change from one store to another!? I wish I knew once and for all what the law really says!

I don't understand why they are doing this all the sudden. Taxes on FPCs are covered by the manufacturer. So this means that they intentionally changed their system in order to collect taxes twice!
I haven't redeemed an FPC at SDM in awhile. It shouldn't matter what store you go to and you don't have to wait for a no tax event. Taxes should not be charged to customers on any FPCs but most stores are charging them anyway. But if the coupon says taxes are included in the face value, you can take the coupon to any store and not have to pay tax. You just have to let the cashier know ahead of time.
