I just use Quicktax. It works well enough, even with capital gains. Filing taxes is something I would rather do myself, rather than trust a 'professional' who may not have my best interests at heart.

If your taxes are straightforward then just do it yourself, use one the of software programs (free or that cost a little $).
It only makes sense to hire someone when you can't understand/do it yourself...and so-called loop holes probably only exist in more complicated situations.
My dad one year decided to go and get it done by someone hoping they would get him a bigger refund, maybe by H&R I forget, and they gave him a refund amt less than when he did it himself...and his taxes are pretty simple, no complicated investments or anything.PM me for referrals to survey sites that pay

you can always stuff everything your not sure about with a note attached and i belive the government people have to figure it out for you?
