As Tuesday became Wednesday, Republican Donald Trump was elected president of the United States after defeating Democrat Hillary Clinton in a historic election. The Republican nominee won Wednesday after capturing Wisconsin’s 10 electoral votes, putting him over the 270 threshold. Trump also secured major wins in key battlegrounds of Pennsylvania, Florida, Ohio and North Carolina.

Clinton Concedes in Phone Call to Trump

Hillary Clinton didn’t attend her Manhattan victory party and she did not make a concession speech last night. She did conceded the presidential election in a phone call to Donald Trump, according to the president-elect during his speech. Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta told supporters that the Democratic nominee would not be speaking at her headquarters. Some found conceding in a phone call to be hypocritical after the Democratic reaction to Trump refusing to say he would concede if voters chose Clinton during the final presidential debate.
