Good morning fellow Canucks!

Boy, that was some wind yesterday. I didn't notice it though. We were watching the home opener for the Brampton Beast (hockey).
I only realized a storm had passed when we were driving home and I saw a tree blown down and had landed on a car in the driveway not too far from our house.

I was at my friends yesterday evening having a beer sitting in her backyard with a couple of friends and all of the sudden we heard these little bangs then big bangs like someone banging on tin garbage cans. Me and another friend got up and went to look at where the sound was coming from. As soon as we went out the front door we saw what caused the bangs. We were in total shock the giant tree across the street a couple of houses down had fallen and landed on two or three cars on our side of the street. Thank god it didn't hit my friends car which was parked two cars away. But the scary part is it also knocked down a hydro wire pole and the wires were dangling scarily in the front yard. The power was out on the other side of the street. There were live wires all over the sidewalk and street. Luckily no one was hurt. The firemen showed up really fast and closed the street down. Well no one could go up or down Pape Ave. anyway the tree took it over. That wind was crazy strong.

Auditor general set to report on Ontario's 25 per cent hydro bill cuts

Ontario’s auditor general is set to table a report today on the Liberal government's 25 per cent cuts to hydro bills. Many have dubbed it a "forced reduction" as the announcement came after growing anger with the cost of electricity in the province. It's safe to say the AG's report won't be a favourable one -- the title of it: "the fair hydro plan: concerns about fiscal transparency, accountability and value for money." We already know the plan is very much short term gain and long term pain, as the plan means hydro customers will be paying a net $21 billion over the next three decades to get these short-term savings.
