Customers must pre-pay at Ontario Husky gas stations

If you're stopping to fill your tank at a Husky gas station starting today, you'll have to pre-pay either at the pump or inside the store. The idea is to minimize gas and dash incidents. A Toronto man was recently sentenced to life in prison after striking and killing a gas station attendant 5 years ago. The new rule has been in effect for the last couple of months out west as the Alberta government brought in mandatory pre-pay legislation after the deaths of five gas station workers over the last three years.

Wynne tables back-to-work legislation to end college strike but NDP block it

Another Friday, another day college students are being kept out of class, but another attempt will be made today to end that. The provincial legislature will reconvene this morning as the government tries again to bring in back-to-work legislation to end a nearly five-week old faculty strike. Last night the NDP blocked that, with leader Andrea Horvath saying her party doesn't support any legislation that takes away workers' rights. The liberals say if their move is blocked again, the legislature will sit through the weekend.

Vietnamese teen killed after electrocuted in sleep by iPhone charger cable

A teenage girl from Vietnam has died after her iPhone charger cable electrocuted her in her sleep. Le Thi Xoan, as she was named in local reports, was found by her parents and subsequently rushed to hospital, but could not be revived. A report from Yahoo News states that Police in the Hoan Kiem district of Vietnamese capital Hanoi found the burnt, white cable on the 14-year-old’s bed, and believe that tear in the rubber casing may have exposed her to frayed wires on the inside .
