Another cold snap on the way for GTA

Toronto is in the midst of yet another bitter cold snap as northwesterly flow will develop over southern Ontario today. With that will come temperatures in the minus 20's and wind chill values in the minus 30's. The latest blast of nasty cold weather is expected to take us right through Saturday. This comes as residents across a huge swath of the US are hunkered down as a massive winter storm moves up the eastern seaboard. The extreme weather system dubbed a ``bomb cyclone'' was spawned by freezing arctic air colliding with warmer Atlantic waters off the US, eastern seaboard. Travel by road and air across Atlantic Canada and the US northeast will likely be impacted today and tomorrow.

Trump attorney sends Bannon cease and desist letter over 'disparaging' comments

Lawyers for US President Donald Trump are promising legal action against former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon following the publication of excerpts from a new book in which Bannon is quoted bashing the First Family. Lawyers sent a cease-and-desist letter, demanding Bannon refrain from making any further disparaging comments. White House aides were blindsided when early excerpts from "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House" were published online by New York magazine and other media outlets ahead of the January 9th publication date.

Happy New Year! Hope all is well!


Life has been a bit of a challenge - I have had 3 colds since I finally got over that nasty flu. To put things in perspective, me on a normal day is the equivalent of someone with a cold, me with a cold is akin to someone with the flu, me with the flu is similar to someone with the bubonic plague....

On the plus side, the kids are all well - Lily dog, Quincy cat and the 3 wise(ish) fish.

Having kind of a blech day today. Found out about 2 instances of people I know being accused of less than pleasant behaviour. I have very strong views about the so-called "victims", but I'm seething too much to do anything lest I make things worse. Sigh, sometimes I really really hate people. Going to spend the day squishing critters (ok, so not necessarily the aquatic ones - really don't want to get wet ) and try to feel better.


Hoping 2018 is a good year for all. I have been invited to go out of town to a convention in the spring - trying to see if I can make it work, cause it sounds like lots of fun and life is too short to miss a chance to enjoy the day.

Going back to hibernation mode (latest cold is going on 2 weeks, so nearing the end, but still blech).

Hey Andit, great to hear from you again. Hoping all that cold & flu stuff is over for you. If you're able to swing it, go to the convention. Like is too short, might as well enjoy it while you can.
