Thunderstorms in the forecast for Toronto today

It’s certainly been a nice stretch of weather but get ready for the rain to move right back in. We are expecting heavy showers and thunderstorms today, right through to tomorrow. In fact, some areas of the GTA could see upwards of 50-millimeteres of rain over the span. Officials are warning of the potential for localized flooding in some areas.

Police launch mischief investigation over car suspended from bridge

Police have launched a public mischief investigation after a car was suspended from a bridge near the Don Valley Parkway yesterday as part of an apparent prank. For hours, the car was spotted dangling from a rope underneath the Millwood Overpass Bridge on Wednesday morning. It was cut down by firefighters shortly before 10 a.m., safely dropping to the ground below. Police initially suggested that it was part of a movie shoot but later said no such shoot was authorized.

Raptors looking to atone for Game 1 mistakes

It’s hard to say it’s a "must-win" situation for the Raptors but it pretty much is. Toronto hosts LeBron and the Cavs for Game 2 tonight at the ACC and they certainly want to avoid going back to Cleveland down 0-2 in the best of seven Eastern Conference semifinals. There will be no shortage of noise coming not just from the stands, but from the sidelines as Drake continues to make headlines state side for constantly chirping the opposition. Thousands of fans are expected to brave the rain at Jurassic Park this evening. Tip off goes at 6pm.
