Collingwood restaurant mistakenly targeted by Trump supporters

A restaurant in Collingwood Ont., has become the target of online hate comments after Trump supporters mistook the eatery for one that asked White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders to leave. The restaurant involved in the incident, is located in Lexington Va., approximately 989 kilometres from Collingwood. According to Sanders, on Saturday evening, the owner of the Red Hen restaurant in Virginia asked her to leave because she worked for the president. Following the incident, Trump supporters began sending hateful comments and filling out negative Yelp and Trip Advisor reviews about the restaurant. An eatery in Collingwood with a similar name, The Olde Red Hen Restaurant, became tangled in the crossfire after a link to their restaurant was wrongly shared, making them the target of nasty comments.

Maple Leafs make first pitch to Tavares

Maple Leafs fans are waiting eagerly for July 1st and the mere thought of landing John Tavaras. Tavares met with two of six teams at his agent's office in L.A. yesterday. The Leafs’ Brendan Shanahan, Mike Babcock and Kyle Dubas were first to make their pitch, followed by the Islanders. Word is the San Jose Sharks and Boston Bruins will get their crack at Tavaras today. As many as nine teams are in the mix, making pitches to the all-star centre.

Dwane Casey wins NBA’s coach of the year award

Dwane Casey won the NBA's Coach of the Year Award for his work with his former team, the Toronto Raptors last night. He was fired last month and has since become coach of the Detroit Pistons.
