The City of Toronto is under a wind warning ahead of the potential for damaging winds of up to 110 km/h on Sunday.
Environment Canada issued a special weather statement on Friday in anticipation of the weather event beginning Sunday afternoon and through to the evening hours.
On Saturday, the weather agency upgraded the statement to a warning.

The wind gusts will persist as a sharp cold front moves into parts of Southern Ontario. The weather system is expected to weaken on Monday.

Spent 3 hours outside today, breaking up all the ice on the driveway & clearing it off. Started out nice, then the wind came howling thru & the temps have dropped. At least I got the driveway cleared. There's white stuff falling now. Hope everyone is enjoying their day.

Get ready to be blown off the road today. That wind sure was a howling last night. Now I understand when people, that have been in a tornado, say that the wind sounds like a train. Sure sound like that last night. Thought it was coming thru the house. Be safe out there today.

Gusty winds hit parts of GTA

Another blustery day is ahead for GTA residents. We're looking at a wind warning and blowing snow advisory in the city. High winds are expected right through the day with gusts upwards of 90 kilometres per hour. Couple that with some snowfall and visibility is a real issue for some this morning - especially areas to the north. Drivers are being reminded to drive to the conditions this morning. There are already some school bus cancellations to pass along -- in York Region, both public and catholic school buses are cancelled but schools remain open. Both the Durham district and catholic school boards are cancelling school buses in zone one.

Rami Malek wins Best Actor for role in Bohemian Rhapsody

The biggest awards show of the year, the Academy Awards, honoured the best movies of 2018, and this year’s Oscars were especially messy leading up to the ceremony. For the second time in the award show’s history, there was no defined host. The first big winner of the night was Regina King, who won Best Supporting Actress for her work in 'If Beale Street Could Talk'. Mahershala Ali took home the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his work in 'Green Book'. Rami Malek won Best Actor for his depiction of late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in 'Bohemian Rhapsody', and Olivia Colman had a surprise win over Glenn Close for Best Actress for her work in 'The Favourite'. Director Alfonso Cuaron won his fourth Oscar for Best Director for 'Roma', and 'Green Book' won the top prize of the night: Best Picture.
