Evening All.

Hubby's mom is not doing very well.

This afternoon I spoke to one of her nursing team about my concerns. Do you know what I was advised to do? Call the doctor myself.

Please note this was NOT a "I'll put a note on her file but, in order to lend more credence to the concerns, I suggest that you call the doctor and speak to him as well" type conversation. This was totally a "what do you want me to do about it? I'm only a nurse and I don't prescribe the meds or order the physio - call the doctor if you have a problem".

I didn't tell Hubby of my conversation until we'd left. Was rather afraid of what he might have done! While we want to do everything we can, we don't want to make too many waves while she is still a prisoner, er patient, there. As bad as it is, I know it could be worse and no telling what might happen if they start feeling threatened!

And what really scares the hell out of me ..... what kind of care do "solo" patients at that hospital get? Patients who don't have a support group of people visiting multiple times each day? Who speaks for them? Who lets the staff know when they are experiencing something out of the norm?

Argo, I am so sorry to hear what you are going through. I have had many experiences with TEGH, some good, and some not so good. My advice to you is to contact their Patient Relations Department and voice your comments and concerns. Thieir number is 416-469-6096. i'd be screaming too at her lack of care argo, holy crap.
hoping the link to_harley has helps but if it doesn't let the hubby
loose - there is no time to lose.
not sure if it would be an option - to ask for her to be
transfered to a different hospital?
no hospital should let your mil to lose weight at any age,
and how they handled everything else sounds awful -

Good Morning! We had a great weekend at Blue Mountain. My son had the best birthday and it was World Snowboard Day. He was so excited! Blue Mountain blew snow 24 hrs to get everything ready and it was great.
I have a weekend to catch up on here and I have to get ready for work. So I will rep you later and get caught up tonight.

Good Morning kids! Thanks to the SC Ladies Auxilliary for helping cook our festive breakfast this morning & thank you to all the guys for volunteering to be on the clean up committee.

Starting your day with a high carb breakfast can be energizing,
Some of you may feel all chatty still is what I am surmising,
That extra strength coffee had extra strength caffeine,
A jolting burst of energy to help cope with the Christmas scene,
To those who are venturing out to begin their holiday shopping,
I recommend that you just get it done, there is no time for stopping,
Get out your Christmas cookbooks & make some delictable treats,
Some of you like the savoury & some of you love those sweets,
Another year of happenings to chalk up for posterity,
& another year of babbling here with our loving sincerity!
