Good Psych Sunday All! Damn the rain yesterday - made me miss the South Side Shuffle Street Festival Cleared up later on but it was too far to drive to chance it........darn I was looking forward to it! Leaving shortly to check out a few other festivals around town.

Kawam - Lucky you booking a trip to the Cayman Is. - should be a great trip, I've never been either but I know one thing it will be nice!!!

Lee: Sounds like a great street festival - its nice that people on your street get together every year like that for a good time!

Just booked Grand Cayman for a week in October

Hubby and I stopped at Grand Caymen for a day on our honeymoon cruise 26 years ago. It is supposed to be one of the world's best places for snorkeling / scuba because of the coral reefs... we did a snorkeling trip for 1/2 a day and toured around the island for the other 1/2. I remember that it was the place to buy jewelery and there was lots to buy. I also remember that lunch was extremely expensive. I'm not sure if the restaurant jacked up the prices when cruise ships come in, but I remember that hubby and I each had a soup, salad and "fancy" drink (like a pina colada or something) and the bill was about $60.00 US. Beautiful Island though....

afternoon Q sters,

it was a nice sunny day today, but definitely cooler. it's suppoe to heat up the rest of this week, summer's not over yet.
i went to log on yesterday afternoon, turned on laptop & blank. the computer was running but nothing on the screen. if i moved the screen around a bit, i could just make it out. attached a monitor to the laptop & voila the picture was clear. great, so off i go down to best buy to drop laptop off before picking up andit. i explained what happened & what i did & the geek squad dude told me the led light ont he screen died & would have to have that replaced. he checked into my warranty info & told me my warranty ran out on Aug 29/12, 10 days ago & they could cover it. it would cost $450.00 to have it fixed. well didn't that suck. figures, the warranty just runs out & it breaks. well i can still use it with the monitor hooked up, but it's not so portable anymore. picked up andit & we went to the SA to see the "presence" album being done by Michael White. came home last night, figuring my Nascar race would be just finished to find Mother Nature was being kind to me by having a rain delay during the middle of the race, so i got to see the 2nd half to the finish of it. that made me happy. today went out to buy another laptop so i can have a portable one. they were on sale still from the start of school, so it cost me less to buy this on, then to fix the other one-$349.00, so i am writing to you from my new one.

I was trying to post earlier, but I got all sorts of error messages about tokens expiring....

That sucks about your laptop H team.... at least you were able to get a new one at a good price...

I had an awesome visit with my dad today.... It was a beautiful drive to NOTL and it was so nice to take dad outside to the patio... He was wide awake today and you could tell by his eyes and the way he squeezed my hands that he knew who we were... last time, we weren't so lucky and he pretty much slept the whole time we visited... just as we were getting ready to go this afternoon, my step mother arrived to visit, so we stayed a little longer.

We stopped just outside of Virgil on the way home and bought a Grape Pie for dessert tonight.... I have never heard of Grape Pie before and my curiosity was peeked... she said that they are made from Concord grapes at this time of year.... it was a pretty yummy treat for a change.... My son said that he thought it tasted like wine...
