I would like to share an experience with you all about drinking and driving.

As you well know some of us have been known to have had rare brushes with the authorities on our way home from the odd social session over the years.

A couple of nights ago I was out for a few drinks with some friends and had a few too many beers and some shots.

Knowing full well I may have been slightly over the limit I did something I've never done before… I took a bus home.

Sure enough, I passed a DUI checkpoint, but as it was a bus they waved it through.

I arrived home safely without incident, which was a real surprise, as I have never driven a bus before and am not sure where I got it

Gas prices dropping 5.7 cents to 127.8 cents/litre

According to En-Pro, gas prices are expected to drop 5.7 cents at 12:01 a.m. Sept. 19, to an average price of 127.8 cents/litre at most GTA gas stations.

Please note: Gas prices have become very volatile because of a change in the way oil companies set their prices, thus making it more challenging to predict gasoline prices.

A petition signed by more than 76,000 people was delivered to Queen's Park by former staff of Marineland. MPP Cheri DiNovo accepted the petitions. Ontario is ready to strengthen its animal welfare laws, Premier Dalton McGuinty said Monday.
“My sense is we’re going to have to do something,” McGuinty said in response to six Marineland whistleblowers who presented a petition with nearly 77,000 signatures to Queen’s Park. The premier’s pledge comes in the wake of a Torstar News Service investigation, where former trainers blamed chronic health issues among sea mammals, including the recent death of a baby beluga, on staffing shortages and sporadically poor water at the park.

“Laws need to be changed in Ontario, they need to be established so the suffering of animals no longer continues,” said Phil Demers, a former marine mammal trainer at the park who quit earlier this year.
Jim Hammond, a former land animal care supervisor at the park, choked up at one point on Monday, saying he failed the animals.
“Provincial regulations are necessary and that’s why we’re all here,” Hammond said. “We have to speak for the animals that cannot speak for themselves.”
There are no regulations regarding sea mammals or other animals in captivity in Ontario.
Demers and the others who came forward promised to keep the animals’ plight in the spotlight, regardless of the results of the investigations.
“We need these new laws. The animals need these laws,” Demers said. “The paycheque is gone, but our jobs remain for taking care of the animals.”
I sure hope they do more than talk about it and do it soon!!!!!!

If anyone is interested in getting involved, there is a huge demonstration planned for closing day on October 7th. Marine Animal Defense is planning to charter buses to help people get there. (From Toronto, London, Kingston, Hamilton, Kitchener/Waterloo and St. Catherines.) Join us if you can! This is the link to the bus sign up form -- http://marinelandanimaldefense.com/bus . I will be there!

    Good afternoon fellow Canucks!

    Lovely weather today... not!
But after such a fabulous summer, I guess I shouldn't complain too much.

Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday!

    Enjoy your evening too!

I laugh whenever I see your post to have a good evening. You must be one of those unfortunate people who works those horrible early day shifts. I'm a night owl who stays up 'till 2 or 3 in the morning so usually don't even get up until 10 or 11. At 3 in the afternoon I'm just starting to feel human and for me evening is still far away.
I worked a 6:45 am to 3:00 pm shift for 6 weeks and it almost killed me!
