Evening Q sters,
It's been an up & down day. Rodent called last night to say 1 of the furballs had let out a big bowl, then flopped on the floor & then got sick. Her breathing was really tagged & she couldn't move. After a bit, she seemed to be a bit better & could get up. Rodent took her to the vets this morning & the vet said, kitty either had a blood clot or a mini stroke. Vet gave kitty some meds to help with the disorientation told rodent the next 48 hours will be critical. Kitty meows every now & then, but she can't stand. I have her wrapped in a blanket, cuddling her. Not sure if she'll make thru the night, but we'll see

On a happier note, today it my parents 60th anniversary. Got them a Congrats certificate signed by Justin Trudeau & 1 signed by the Queen. Had them both framed so they can hang them on the wall.

So sorry to hear about your kitty. That's so sad. Yes she's had a good, long life, but that doesn't make it any easier to watch her struggling. I'm glad she seems a little better this morning.

Happy 60th to your parents. Nice gift. My son did the same for our 25th many years ago.

My kids got DW and I a signed one by JT for our 25th anniversary, which is next Wednesday! Thought it was a really cool gift. Did not know the Queen does it too!

I know it's a little early, but I want to wish you both a very Happy 25th Anniversary.

Special Events, Road Closures to Make For Tricky Weekend Travel

If you're heading downtown this weekend, the city is encouraging you to take advantage of public transit & allow extra time to get around as several events and significant roadwork will congest streets. Saturday events include the Malvern Bicycle Race, Pape Village Summerfest and the Riverside Eats & Beats Streetfest. On Sunday, the Gardiner will be closed between Carlaw Avenue and the Humber Bridge, and the DVP will be closed between HWY 401 and the Gardiner, from 2am to 2pm on Sunday.

Ticketmaster Won't Say How Many 'Hip' Tickets Will Be Available Today

Thousands of fans will be clamouring for tickets to the Tragically Hip’s farewell tour when they go on sale to the general public this morning at 10am. But no one knows how many tickets are actually available, because no one in the industry will say. After fans complained about the lack of tickets to see the Tragically Hip, Ontario's Attorney General said the ministry needs to look at resale prices and insists she wants to fix the situation.

Scientists Confirm King Tut’s 3300-year-Old Dagger Forged from Meteorite

Very cool, especially since astronomy is an interest of mine.

On a side note, way back in 1985, I went to the Valley of the Kings in Egypt and visited three tombs. One of them was King Tut's, which was the smallest of the three. The other tombs had larger rooms. If my memory serves me right, the other two were Ramses III and Ramses VI. But Tut was the big draw. The only thing was that no one was allowed to take pictures inside the tombs. The confiscated everyone's cameras and gave them back to us when we exited.

That was a good summer for me. Right after Egypt, I went to Kenya then Amsterdam. Good times for a 21 year old. The only downer was that I completely missed the Live-Aid concerts.
