    I've been wrong before, though.
i think mo's show is floundering. they keep trying to do things to boost her numbers. having alan cross is the newest attempt.

Canadian rock musician Kim Mitchell is recovering in hospital after suffering a heart attack on Tuesday.
A Facebook message posted by Alert Music, his management company, says Mitchell underwent emergency surgery.
He will remain at the hospital for another day or two before returning home.
Mitchell has been a staple of the Canadian and Toronto-area music scenes for decades, first as the lead singer and guitarist for Max Webster in the 1970s before going solo.
Some of his best-known hits include "Go For Soda," "Patio Lanterns" and "I Am A Wild Party."
Last year, Mitchell left Toronto classic rock radio station Q107, where he worked for about 11 years.

HOW THE INTERNET STARTED, ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE. ( PLEASE DO NOT GOOGLE THIS ONE OR CHECK WITH ANYONE ELSE. THEY WILL ONLY LIE TO YOU!)
... In ancient Israel , it came to pass that a trader by the name of Abraham Com did take unto himself a healthy young wife by the name of Dorothy (Dot for short). Dot Com was a comely woman, large of breast, broad of shoulder and long of leg. Indeed, she was often called Amazon Dot Com.
And she said unto Abraham, her husband, "Why dost thou travel so far from town to town with thy goods when thou canst trade without ever leaving thy tent?" And Abraham did look at her as though she were several saddle bags short of a camel load, but simply said, "How, dear?"
And Dot replied, "I will place drums in all the towns and drums in between to send messages saying what you have for sale, and they will reply telling you who hath the best price. The sale can be made on the drums and delivery made by Uriah's Pony Stable (UPS)."
Abraham thought long and decided he would let Dot have her way
with the drums. And the drums rang out and were an immediate success. Abraham sold all the goods he had at the top price, without ever having to move from his tent.
To prevent neighboring countries from overhearing what the drums were saying, Dot devised a system that only she and the drummers knew. It was known as Must Send Drum Over Sound (MSDOS), and she also developed a language to transmit ideas and pictures - Hebrew to The People (HTTP).
And the young men did take to Dot Com's trading as doth the greedy horsefly take to camel dung. They were called Nomadic Ecclesiastical Rich Dominican Sybarites, or NERDS. And lo, the land was so feverish with joy at the new riches and the deafening sound of drums that no one noticed that the real riches were going to that enterprising drum dealer, Brother William of Gates, who bought off every drum maker in the land.
Indeed, he did insist on drums to be made that would work only with Brother Gates' drumheads and drumsticks. And Dot did say, "Oh, Abraham, what we have started is being taken over by others."
And Abraham looked out over the Bay of Ezekiel , or eBay as it came to be known, and he said, "We need a name that reflects what we are." And Dot replied, "How about Young Ambitious Hebrew Owner Operators?"
"YAHOO," said Abraham. And because it was Dot's idea, they named it YAHOO Dot Com.
Abraham's cousin, Joshua, being the young Gregarious Energetic Educated Kid (GEEK) that he was, soon started using Dot's drums to locate things around the countryside. It soon became known as God's Own Official Guide to Locating Everything (GOOGLE).
That is how it all began. And that's the truth. I would not make up this stuff.

Just popping in to say hi.

B-day celebrations were fun. To celebrate, the staff at the local watering hole were sweet enough to give me an adult version of the root beer I'm obsessed with (they were not stingy with the rum, I tell ya ). Had 3 lunches and 2 dinners to celebrate (couldn't co-ordinate all my friends in one group, which was better since I had more time to chat with everyone). When we went for dinner at the nearby pub, the waiter offered me a choice of dessert - apparently chocolate martinis count as dessert. Maybe my New Years Resolution should be to learn how to make fancy martinis, just so I can have one before bed every night.

Lily dog is under the weather today (I swear one of us always has to have something going on, sigh). She was perfectly fine yesterday, but refused to eat her breakfast. Not sure if she's sulking cause there is no company coming by today to tell her how pretty she is, or whether she has an upset tummy from all the treats she's been getting. She did gobble up the cheese I bribed her with, even if she didn't want to leave her bed. I suspect someone might wake me in the middle of the night to brave the elements.

bff's Dad is in really bad shape at this point. Yesterday, his BP dropped suddenly, then stabilized, so no one can really say how much longer he will be with us. bff is really stressed out & can use all the prayers and good thoughts that can be thrown her way - in addition to this stress, she's worried about her Mom (picked up a bad cold at the hospital) and is struggling with whether she should go for a job interview on Friday (I'm pushing her to do it, since I know what she's like & she'll regret not doing it). Poor thing has so much on her plate & I wish I could do more, but she doesn't want me near the hospital (with my immune system, it's not a good idea).

Today has not been a good day. As I said to one friend, it's too darn hard to be an adult. Oh well, at least I don't have to shovel sn*w (ah, the joys of condo living).

Better go check on Lily dog.

Hope everyone has a quiet uneventful (unless happy!) evening. Night all.

I agree... I really like both Mo and Scholes, but I'm not loving the show and I think that they're struggling... I think because there are two of them, they're trying too hard to have a "punch line" with each other before each break and it's not always working for them... BTW, I really like Alan Cross....

    and he's still on cfny
    http://www.edge.ca/ongoinghistory/

The Ongoing History of New Music is Canada’s longest running radio documentary. Since its debut in January 1993, hundreds and hundreds of shows have aired in Toronto, across Canada and through the US. (There’s been a lot of bootlegging which we’ll take as flattery, too.) Each week, the show looks at something from the alt-rock universe, from artist profiles to various thematic explorations. Whatever the episode, you’re definitely going to learn something that you might not find anywhere else. Trust us on this.
New episodes: Sundays at 7pm, Mondays at midnight
Archive Shows: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at midnight
