I just wanted to take a minute to share a gift basket that I made.
I'm in a community band, largely made up of seniors. We play concerts throughout the year at children's hospitals or long term care centres (Bloorview) and seniors centres. Before we break for the summer we have a big music gala and as a part of it there is a silent auction to raise money for the band - to pay for our conductor, money to rent the school for practice, etc.
I made this gift basket for the silent auction and all I really paid a substantial amount for was the basket itself... but it was 50% off at Zellers.
Making it was easy... carrying it on public transit (a bus, then subway, then switching to another subway line and one final bus) to practice sucked.
As you can see one of the deodorants shifted and you can see some tape I had used to hold it in place - so I think that before our concert I will rip off all the cello, fix the item that shifted and then re-do the cellophane. OCD much?
Anyways here's the basket contents:
Brita Slim Pitcher
Crest Whitening Expressions Toothpaste
Dawn Dishwashing Liquid
Electrosol Dishwasher Tabs
Fusion Razor
Gillete Series Shaving Gel
Gillette Shampoo
Glad Cling Wrap
Glad Sandwhich Zipper Bags
Glade Air Freshener

Glade Scented Oil Candle Refills
Glade Sense and Spray

Satin Care Shaving Gel
Secret Antiperspirant
Shrek Bandaids
Snuggle Fabric Softener Sheets
Sponges
Sunlight Green Clean Laundry Soap
Tea Towel
Vaseline Aloe Fresh Body Lotion

Great job on an awesome basket!! I hope it rakes in a fortune in the Silent Auction!!! (to compensate you for having to carry it to your event!)

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome Basket. You did an amazing job. That looks fantastic. Good for you. I am sure you will raise alot of money Auctioning this lovely basket off.

I was just looking at your basket again and read about the long journey to get it there. That was really something for you to do all of that. It must have been a struggle carrying the basket on the bus then onto the Subway and bus again. What a Kind and Generous person you must be. So many wonderful and giving people on this site. I am so happy I stumbled across SC. Thankyou
