I know it's not much but I try to do something small every time I am at the store and see someone around me with an item that I have a coupon for. Yesterday at Freshco I gave the family behind me a coupon for Hellmann's mayonnaise and one for Bick's pickles. They were very appreciative and asked questions about couponing.
I know it's just a buck or two but it makes everyone feel good!

I am SO pleased with myself
I did a RAOK for a fellow Walmart shopper @ Royal Oak the other day.
I have been leaving the occasional coupon anonymously on store shelves, but not yet managed to RAOK any coupons to an actual shopper until a couple of days ago.
She was in one of the food aisles checking out those new Uncle Bens rice and sauce kits (and I was surreptitiously checking out her cart to see what other items she already had in it). When she put a couple of the kits in her cart, I whipped open my purse and began rifling through my coupon wallet.
(Side Note: yeah, I have a coupon wallet, but I will be officially upgrading to a binder this week - SHOULD have taken the advice of all the other couponers on here and got a binder the first day! But I did not believe I would amass very many coupons, so could not justify a binder... Anyways, I digress.)
I quickly found a couple of the 0.50 coupons for the rice, and a Pampers wipes one for the wipes I had already noticed in her cart. I then caught up to her in the next aisle, and (somewhat sheepishly, cause I am new to the coupon RAOK thing, and although I anticipated it would be good, wasn't entirely sure what her reaction would be to my offer) extended the coupons, saying:
"Excuse me, I was wondering if you could use these?"
To which she replied, with a huge grin on her face, "OH! Yes! Yes, thanks! Thank you - I love coupons! Thank you! I can really use these!"
I smiled and mumbled a welcome to her (
why did I mumble?), and continued on my way.
I felt a warm rush of adrenalin, and suddenly felt lighter on my feet, knowing I had just put a smile on a strangers face, and saved her a couple of bucks in the process!

It felt good..... I gotta do it again!

I read a post earlier today about an SCr who lost her binder. She is fairly new to couponing and although had not amassed a huge collection of coupons they were all she had. It touched me so I prepared an envie of coupons to mail to her.
Later today when I went looking for the thread it had been marked as expired/spam and that really made me sad. Was this because she is a newbie? I don't know, but I am a newbie too. It may be a scam to get more coupons or she may have actually lost her binder. In the end I decided that I will send the envelope to her instead of letting coupons expire unused. I just know that I'd feel awful if I lost my binder but would feel so much better if someone reached out to help me out.
Best wishes to Ishy. Some coupons are on the way.Last edited by frugalmom2; Sat, Aug 13th, 2011 at 10:00 PM.

This was alot more than a lost coupon. She lost her entire binder!
And why not? A large part of this board is about couponing to make donations to those in need. What about helping out a fellow SCr? That post was gone before hardly anyone could read it. We don't know her circumstance, she could be even needier that those we help everyday.

This site has been incredibly helpful with teaching me how to save and what sales to look for. Today I got the opportunity to help two others.
I was browsing Zellers for coupons and sales and an older gentleman put two bottles of Tide in his cart. I just cut this out of the brandsaver in case good sales came along so I new I had one available. I was a little shy offering him the coupon at first, but I figured the worst would be he'd just look at me weird and walk away, but once I told him it was for $3.00 off for buying two, he lit up and thanked me. It felt amazing to be able to share shavings with someone else!
In the same Zellers a gentleman was buying some Splenda and I knew I had two from my trade coupons so I fished one out and handed it to him. Again another brilliant smile my way and it felt great. I usually donate to a few different charities, but even though it was just giving away some coupons, it felt really nice to actually see the smiles of people that I helped, even if it was just a small way.Visit my Facebook page for updates on Swagbucks, PrizeZombie, GiftHulk and more: http://www.facebook.com/<wbr>MoneyMakersandSavers
