My manager has more or less committed payroll fraud since she started in April. She'll show up on a Saturday at 3, but put down on her pay rec. that she started at 8:45.
The full time girl and other part time guy hadn't the balls to say anything to our DM so I took the lead (I work full time elsewhere, only do Sundays there) and called her on Saturday about what was going on. She was busy at the time but asked for a detailed email outlining all the dates that I knew for sure that the manager lied on her pay rec.
I did that on Sunday and have yet to hear about it at all? I'm really annoyed. I want this manager fired, she's an awful employee and doesn't deserve her job.
Should I try to call or email and follow up? What's standard protocol for something like this? This thread is currently associated with: N/A

In terms of legal liability and privacy laws they probably can't tell you anything. It is likely they will investigate and if they have corroborating evidence they will quietly let her go. If they need more evidence they will keep it under their hat and watch, document etc until they have what they need. Must be tough for you to be left hanging in the interim

That's what we were thinking. My DM had me email from my email account at home so as not to leave a "paper" trail at work. I'm just afraid they wouldn't take my concerns and email seriously...

I want to say firstly that you're seeing someone ripping the company off, and you're doing the right thing. As you're seeing in your workplace, not everyone has the balls to report wrongdoing.
Maybe email to follow up, at a level higher than you've already reported, but wait a bit. It takes awhile to investigate these things I think. But in the future, do follow up to ensure that the problem is not being ignored at the level it's at now.

Thanks for letting me know
I suppose they'll have to go through a lawyer and make sure all my claims were correct (can check through security camera and transaction history). The one part timer has a text from her saying no joke "still sleeping lol, if [DM] calls tell her I'm out making photocopies" (it was sent at 10 am, and she didn't show up to work until 3).

I have to say that now that you've reported it you should stand down. You've done your part to expose the wrong doing but they will undoubtedly not give you any additional details as it would be unprofessional. Your best bet is to just leave it and let them deal with it.

a million years ago i had to deal with a payroll fraud situation.. my boss at the time had her wife penciled in on the schedule, even though she never once lifted a finger to do any work.. never even showed up there.. without thinking, he mentioned to me that she was earning a UI cheque (back before it became EI).. so she was getting two paycheques... i called the DM immediately and told him flat-out what he was doing.. boss was investigated and fired a couple of days later.. i was promoted to take his position

You've done the right thing. Unfortunately, sometimes we don't get to see the results of our good deeds on behalf of the company. They may not deal with it as you think that they should.

Good for you for doing this! Probably since you started the ball rolling, like others have said, it will just run its course of investigation and you may not be in on the loop of info.

I agree with gourmetsue, you have done your part and now it is up to the higher management to follow through. It wouldn't be professional on their part to keep you in the loop so to speak. For all you know they may already have other issues in their files on her, so I would just let it be.
However what I would do is keep the email you sent (or print it out) for your own sake in case you are questioned about it later - including the date you sent it. Unfortunately I learned the hard way about looking out for yourself. I always keep detailed records when it comes to things like that and I don't trust anyone.
