I think that if you can't get the $3.99 back than you should be able to get the coupon back!!!!!

Here is a link ,maybe you can at least replace the coupon you lost!

They should give the full amount back or the coupon that is stealing. They get the money for it because stores don't have to show a reciept with purchase to get reimbursed they only have to show they had enough stock on hand to support the coupon. I would call head office and demand your money or your coupon. You were ripped off your right.

Which code was used to enter your coupons? 2001 or 2002?

Bonus points are awarded on 2001, not 2002. Check your receipt. How many base points did you get? 500+?

Maybe just try and exchange it at Wal-mart for the kind you need, they are much better for that stuff there!

All were entered in as 2001

    1st receipt shows
    base 870
    bonus 630
    total earned 18030

    2nd receipt shows
    base 630
    bonus 630
    total 1260

I am thinking in regards to the 2nd transaction there is hopefully just a glitch in the system

    Will be calling on Monday

And you can most certainly use bp coupons and regular coupons.

    How frustrating!!!!

I can see this becoming a huge problem if some not so ethical couponers decide to start buying stuff with coupons with the intention of turning around and returning it for cash. I know the OP did not do this but I believe London Drugs has had to deal with this issue. Returning a coupon should be no biggie if it is just one person but they could view it as a slippery slope.

You are right. As a an employee of SDM, I can tell you that in the coupon policy we received, it states when a customer is doing a refund in which a coupon was used, the scanned price of the product is to be refunded to the customer. Some stores don't like the idea of doing so because SDM is a franchise. So, if it was at a different store in which you did the refund, they technically don't get that reimbursement from the coupon in which you bought the item.

I believe bonus points are not awarded on 2002 IF it is a 'X' bonus promo, i.e. 5x the points, 10xthe points, 15x the points, etc. But if it is a flat number of points, you should get it.

Today I used my fpc for the cottonelle wipes. I got no base points, since it was a fpc/2002 but I got the 500 bonus points (plus 100 points for my bag!).

And as Anne said, yes you should be able to use a bonus points coupon with a $off coupon. However, a lot of the SDM bonus pts coupons say cannot be combined with any other discounts or promotions. But I have never had a problem using them together.

Re: the Purex situation, it occurred to me that if you waited and went back to return it another time, you probably wouldn't have had the hassle. Unless you were dealing with the same cashier and she remembered your transaction, how would they know you used a $3 coupon for it (assuming you bought some things w/o using coupons). But definitely, you should get the $3.99 back.

I'm hoping for you there's another sdm that you can do future purchases at!

Yes, I was speaking strictly about the 20x promotion.

Base points and 20X bonus points are not awarded on 2002 codes, however product bonus points such as was the case with the cottonelle wipes are awarded "product bonus points" (but again, not base or 20X bonus).

The manager made me give her all the coupons after each product so it states it on the receipt.

I wish I could go to another one, however not all our SDM here have frozen or dairy, this is the only one close to me that has both and a big selection of it.

This thread reminds me of my old experience.

I bought a cosmetic with a coupon. Then I went back for an exchange to get a different colour when the sale was still going on. The cashier said SDM doesn't do exchange, only do refund. So I said okay I'll return and buy again. But she only refunded me what I paid. Then I asked if the coupon I had used before could be applied to the new purchase. She said NO. I ended up wasting the coupon. I really wished she could give me the coupon back.

I have never recieved the full amount back if I used a coupon. I think you're right in that you should because as been stated, that store will be getting reimbursed that coupon amount.
The only store that gave my coupon back was once at No Frills. I went in about 2 mins after I paid though. Noticed she had missed that coupon I gave her for $5 off of one of the products somehow, so I took the items back. The woman at customer service, went to the cashier and got my coupon back. ONLY time I have recieved good customer at No Frills!!!
