for flower scents, lilacs are my favourite... there were lots and lots of lilac bushes in Lethbridge, where I grew up.. I think they do well on the prairies... it's so nice to get some lilac blooms cut and put in a vase and then the whole house smells like lilacs... but sometimes they have lots of ants in them.. fun fun fun ... you could put the ants on the dandelion and nasturtium salad and get a little extra protein!

ever eaten nasturtiums? they are edible and beautiful... a little peppery to taste
let's see.. there's a market around here that sells dandelion greens sometimes... you could make a dandelion and nasturtium salad! and put raspberry dressing on it... it's pink trucks!

i have tried nasturtiums..i am a bit of a flower salad fanatic
I like eating cornflowers and english daisies
and fuchsia berries!

my fav are gardenias..i always see soaps and things trying to replicate its scent..not even close.


ants and bugs in flowers are a nightmare!..they spread around the whole room.. sometimes i take a magnifying glass to all flowers i pick ..ants bite!

^^^ petunias!!! I used to have them on my balcony a few years ago... they were called "wave" petunias because they would bloom so profusely that it was just a big wave of color... you could see my wave of petunias from blocks away!

then... :-( my poor little petunias got aphids and then I had to chop them all down because there were about 139 trillion aphids on them ... and now there's this big tower directly across from me so you can't really see my balcony from the street anymore... only my new neighbours will see them... I hope they appreciate my efforts...
