DH decided to go fishing this morning at 4 AM with my wheels (my van has a roof rack on it so he can strap on the canoe!), so I am left here impatiently waiting for his return so I can go do my super duper, amazing 20X SDM points shop!
Until then, I am trying to keep busy, so with that in mind and knowing our local fire department is going around the city tomorrow to pick up donations for the local food drive, I went through my stash and got a box ready!
Here is my donation ready for pick-up:

A glance inside the box:

Now a a word from your sponsor moment *LOL*:
Food Banks and Shelters have the hardest time in the summer months as a lot of people are on vacation and there aren't many associated holidays of giving then, so if you can, please donate if you have the opportunity, to keep on giving to those less fortunate than us.
I'll step down from my soap box now
And wish you all a Happy Saturday!
Stay tuned for my 20X points post later on this evening! This thread is currently associated with: Pharmaprix, Shoppers Drug Mart

Nice! We had a food bank drive in our city last weekend, but they didn't get to our neighbourhood to pick up, so I had my son take the carful of donations I had collected into a local grocery store which collects for the food bank. Wouldn't ever think of taking a picture of the donations though...

GREAT brag.
My DH is a board gaming guy, plays all kinds of games with various people - sometimes just friends, sometimes events, and they sometimes put a food bank drive in instead of charging a fee to participate.
There are many charities that need our help, but I've always leaned toward the food bank. Thank God I have never been in the position that I don't have food.
We have a 55 pound four year old who can easily eat a second bowl of cereal for breakfast, and I often think about how hard it must be for parents who have to say no to the second bowl - or no to the first one, because there isn't anything in the pantry. Many people are lacking in a lot of different areas in today's world, but food is such a fundamental part of your day, you just can't function properly when you're hungry.

good job!
our local food bank recently asked the churches to organize a food drive for them.
I just dropped off a bag of groceries tonight too.
The President's Choice small formula with a MIR makes a nice food bank donation.
