At the last SDM bonus redemption, I went all out and got the Wii console and the Wii Fit Plus. I must say that the Wii Fit is making exercise fun again. I love super hula hoop and the yoga. Has anyone here lost weight due to using the Wii Fit and would like to share his/her success story? I do the required 30 minutes/day, but aside from sore ab muscles, really haven't noticed any discernible weight loss.

alone i wouldn't say so(though some people may differ).. but it does a great job of motivating you to exersize and use it regularly.. i've met a few people who never really exersized now do so regularly because the wii fit and getting into a routine of using it along with a healthier lifestyle (eating healthier) but i also know people who use it casually and have little to no weightloss

I seem to remember an article in some magazine with twins - one did a traditional workout and the other used the wii to the same extent ... along with balanced nutrition and support, I believe they both lost similar weight after a period of a few months or so ... not sure if that helps or not, but I think any motivation is definately helpful towards healthy weight loss goals.
... I'm earning $5-25 Amazon.ca gift cards EVERY month, are you?
P.S. ... starting to hunt for ShoppingChannel GC's with no minimum purchase ...

I got mine a couple of weeks ago - as someone who rarely exercises (but does alot of walking) it motivates me to get up off the couch and do some activity. I love the stepper exercises they have in the aerobic section and the hula hoop ones too!

I don't have one mind you. However anything that motivates you to get up and do at least something can't be bad.

And keep in mind there are lots of fitness games for the Wii as well. EA Active is great in my opinion!

If you are already do regular exercise, no its not going to help.
If you don't get much exercise yes its going to help you!

my SIL lost about 30 pounds just using her Wii and watching what she eats. She has a 3 yr old daughter and cant get out much to do things so when the DD goes to bed she gets on the wii.

Yes if you actually use it and faithfully it will help, if its just sitting there collecting dust then no it wont help.
But in the end its you who loses the weight but the wii fit does keep it fun :D

I think it's just like everything else, you have to use it, and hopefully get motivated and want to actually be active outside the house. My roommate has a wii fit, mostly just collects dust, she also "bikes" to work occassionally, it's only a 10 min bike ride, yet the thought of getting a drive there and back is more appealing than biking. I take exercise over fossil fuels.
anyways, yes you can lose weight, but most weight loss comes from cutting caloric intake. you can workout for an hour at the gym, or just not eat chocolate bars everyday, etc.

I LOVE my Wii Fit Plus and when I was gung ho and using it everyday I lost about 8 pounds... HOWEVER... because I was using it so much barefoot, I ended up seriously hurting my right foot and ankle and got plantar fasciitis from it. WEAR SHOES!! I can't stress this enough! I know it says not to wear shoes, but it's a huge must. Now, I just do my weigh in/body test/etc barefoot and then put my shoes on to do all the exercises.

Well, i wouldnt say it keeps you fit. It does get you more physically active within the realm of the game but after a while of having the game you realise that you can cheat by moving less and the motion will still detect your move, you know?
Playing the wii fit is like playing games at arcades... you are active, but it's not really a work out. It's a whole lotta fun though :D

i think if you use it in regular basis and you add it to your daily routine
you will really lose weight..Things don't have to be extraordinary to be beautiful, Even the ordinary can be beautiful.
