I agree with everyone b4 me, lol I cringe at the thought of all the money wasted paying full price prior to joining SC! This has been the best re-education experience ever! LOL
Like others, I won't buy anything without a coupon plus when its on sale...I just stock up on the sales & wait it out for the next sale, haha
Actually we have more food/snacks/personal care/tp/deod/razors etc than we ever had before
Also I've been able to stock up on gift items, like smellies, hand lotions/ BW etc with SDM redemptions too!
Our biggest cost for the summer is gas for our boat! About $300 a month maybe more give or take...so the couponing really has helped me stock up on snacks/food & we don't eat out much to save the money for our favourite summer fun!
A big thanks to all SCers for posting deals/coupons & CouponLady's weekly list!

Ouch on the gas for the boat! But they're fun, eh?
DH was "amused" at first with my couponing, but when he saw what we were saving, he started grabbing coupons for me whenever he saw them. The kids do too.
Today was kinda funny. We went to WM this morning and did really well there. Spent about 100 bucks on stuff but all of it was on sale,or clearance or pm'd to another store with coupons etc. We came home with bags and bags of stuff.
So later in the day, DH decides he's gonna make gyros for supper because we have a nice leftover pork roast to creatively use up. He goes to the local grocery store to pick up a few things, comes back 10 minutes later carrying 2 bags and looking rather downtrodden.
I say, "what's the matter?"
He holds the two bags up and says, "I learned something today. I learned that I should never, ever go shopping without you. What's in these two bags was $43.00."
haha. I told him that was probably the best compliment somebody could give me.

That was cute ninna. Good for your husband for recognizing your work. Coupon organizing and prepping takes work.
I love SC. Joined a few months ago and have learned so much already. I agree with waiting until things are on sale and then using a coupon. Last month I bought a ton of Nutri-grain bars thinking they would last the whole month. Well we ran out last week and I refused to buy until a sale was on. Sure enough this week there is and I have coupons to boot. Whoohoo. So the kids just need to wait until 15% off Tues. Then look out here I come. I will be buying 15 boxes. LOL

You are so right. It is very painful to pay full price for anything when you made it a habit to use coupons + sales. Frankly I couldn't afford to pay full price for everything we need.

today i went to visit my daughter in t.o and to save her money-took her toilet paper she was right out, dish soap, fabric softner and laundry soap. She even used the 2.00 kashi coupon i sent to her apt, other than that she doesnt use coupons she works too many hours, not much downtime- so i didnt mind helping her , she is a great adult kid.

I am lucky because my mom has always been a coupon user and sale shopper. I used to do quite a bit of it but when I came on here I have been able to streamline it alot more.
What I think is exciting is that my kids are seeing me use the coupons and are getting used to it and hopefully when they got on their own will be better able to do it for themselves. They are boys so we will see how that works out. The one funny thing they said to me a while back was that when they move out on their own they want me to help them and shop for them because I am so good at it.
