Currently baking heart shaped brownies. I used the 5 ingredient recipe from living on a dime. I will never go back to a mix, these are so easy.
All of a sudden I had a craving for Blueberry Muffins and we found a bag of blueberries in the freezer so I made a batch of Blueberry Muffins this morning
Mrs Tenderflake and Mrs Shirriff were kind enough to let me bake a lemon pie yesterday morning.
Yesterday i baked some more apples and today i baked Camembert cheese in phyllo dough andthen topped it with homemade cranberry sauce. That was lunch with some baguette bread.
Did up a lasagna last night. Bugged DS to grate the 2 cheeses for me, save my wrist. DH drooled over it and asked me with a straight face " what was that? a 7 layer lasagna? ". He knows I just keep layering till the ingredients run out or there is no more room in the pan.
Kept it simple though, meat sauce, cheeses and sliced mushrooms between the noodles.

I have a batch of Cake Mix Cookie Bars in the oven, I used to make these when I needed something quick to make for a treats at work (no longer allowed with Covid) so it has been awhile since I made these. Went with simple White Cake mix with Chocolate chips today.
Baked a banana cake the other day. I had about 8 frozen bananas in the freezer, so used four of them. I usually freeze bananas when they start getting brown and havent been eaten. We like our bananas on the greenish/yellowish side.
I will admit that I've screwed up my fair share of recipes over the years but this one takes the cake!
I was excited to start making the baklava cookies ( maybe too excited? )
My normal routine when measuring any dry ingredient that calls for 3/4 cup is to pull out my 1/2 and 1/4 cup measures and voila! Not today apparently.
I never knew what had happened until I checked the cookies on the tray after just 8 minutes in the oven and the parchment paper was totally filled to every edge, every cookie had flattened and sidled next to his co-cookie.
Clearly they never got the social distancing memo.
I decided NOT to waste them. I left the tray in and cooked until they were crisp.
Before they totally cooled I used a pizza cutter to make the rectangle shapes....drizzled them all with honey and added the chopped walnuts.
They are delicious!!
Anybody figure out what I did wrong?
I used a full cup and a 1/2 cup measure when I put the sugar in the bowl! ( instead of the 1/2 and 1/4 ) The evidence was right there on the sink counter....

my hubby (American) said it's just like the buns at Golden Corral in the states
o.k. @SnowFlakey here is the recipe BUT if you want them to turn out the way mine did in that photo ( all thin and crispy like a gingersnap ) then cream 1 and a 1/2 cups of sugar in with the butter instead of what Spencer's recipe calls for, which was 3/4 of a cup only....ha ha ha

By the way on his recipe it claims that the yield for this recipe is just 8 cookies? That MUST be a typo because even though I did add twice the sugar I managed to scoop out 3 cookies across by 6 down onto 2 cookie sheets ( before they all spread out flat once they baked ).
My yield was 36 cookies
Also notice there is icing sugar in this recipe as well.
