I cannot make meringue! Over the years ive tried and tried and the end result was always disastrous. The meringue was weepy and slid off the lemon pie. No idea why. And forget the Forgetten Cookies. They were a disaster also.

Oh dear @SnowFlakey isn't it funny? I am in no way talented or even that adept at baking, but using this mixer with a wire whisk is the best thing ever! When I was mixing up the meringue cookie " batter " , it got so thick it looked like shaving cream!
Btw, that giant pie is nearly eaten upnow and it never made any difference about me mixing and spreading the 2 different egg white mixtures over it.
However, I did have to " refresh " the cookies because after 3 days in that cookie jar their dry crispness began to disappear.
A simple return to the cookie sheet and into a warm oven for 1.5 hours dried them out again and DS said they somehow tasted even better. lol.
well i turned a store bought cake into a cookie monster cake for my 2 years old bday, does that count as i baked a cake? lol

Since an air fryer is basically a small convection oven... chicken drumsticks that we made into Buffalo drums plus a package of frozen fries that are free at NF this week for anyone who still has the NLA $2 McCain printable from a while back.
Baked from frozen, the last 4 of the Mini Chocolate Croissants.
wow @Purdee that was a genius move! It looks exactly like the Cookie Monster! Creativity 10/10 !! Happy Birthday to a very lucky 2 year old!!
Thanks @walkonby . I ran out of blue food coloring and icing so the back side of the cake had no icing (or fur) LOL. I tried to only take pictures of the good side. It was hard to organize a bday celebration on a weekday when you work full time M-F. Thank goodness it was only us and we FaceTime our family.
Got up real early yesterday and baked a Banana Cake from some frozen bananas. Banana Cake from frozen bananas just doesnt taste the same or maybe its me. anyway, when DS and DD were leaving yesterday, they each took a third of the cake. Our third is almost all gone. I have a few containers of frozen sour cream so i will probably bake a Coffee Cake in the next few days.
Hmmm, that is odd @SnowFlakey about the frozen bananas giving the end product a less than result. I use the frozen ones more than the fresh because we always have bananas that no one is eating up fast enough, so I peel and freeze them in sandwich bags. I make sure I peel the bananas before I freeze them.
I just pulled a delicious Date Cake from the oven. DH is a real fan of date squares but this cake hits the spot he said, so I made it again for him. Just an online recipe.

Her version uses sesame seeds to roll the balls of dough in, but sadly I had none left in the cupboard. So I partially ground up a bag of blanched almonds....worked great!

this morning i went to my daughters house (first time since last year being inside). We had planned a day of baking or frying. We made Ukrainian doughnuts, about 6 dozen. and we made Krusti. The grandkids helped eat them of course. I wanted to take pictures but i forgot and there are no more Krusti left. I brought some doughnuts home but hubby ate most of them. My arms are tired from rolling. Next baking or frying day we will make Egg Rolls. But i cant find any wonton wrappers. Where did you guys get yours.
@SnowFlakey yes! That is how it goes with Crostoli ( Italian version ). My Aunt used to make and pack boxes of them all layered between butcher's paper and ship them to us in T.O. ( they are so darn crispy and delicate, I still don't know how so many of them arrived whole? )
Sounds like your day was a great day of family fun!!
