Hi Everyone
This is not a contest win but a contest question. I thought who better to ask than the pros I recently entered a local contest. It was on their FB page and you had to submit a photo of your phone and have people vote. At the begining of the contest, the prizes were a Nokia Lumia 900 phone for the top 4 voted photos. At the end of the initial voting period, they changed the contest and said that they were opening it back up to new entries as only 4 people entered (in my mind we should of all won the phone) So the re open the contest, 3 more people enter (so 7 total) and voting begins again. Yesterday was the last day of voting and they changed the prizes from top 4 to "up to 2 people". I placed 3rd in voting and am now pretty ticked off!!! Has anyone heard of a contest being changed like this before? First extending it and then changing and reducing the amount of prizes? Is this even legal for them to do?
I don't want to come off as a sore loser, but I'm pretty disappointed. I feel like I did everything correctly and rightly should of won twice! I would appreciate anyone's thoughts of feedback, Thanks.

Read the rules for the contest, its at their discretion in most cases. I got #1 on the score.ca for soccer, choosing teams and their sponsor bowed out so they never sent me my jersey I won

This happened to me also on a facebook contest. Not many people had entered and the person with the top vote at the end of the contest won a bbq. Well that was me. Happily I waited to be contacted and nothing. So i decided to contact them and was told that they had decided to extend the contest because not many people had entered. Needless to say I didn't end up winning. What bothered me the most was that I believe it was a friend of the company that won and that I was also accused of making up friends to get votes. I contacted the Competition Bureau but they wouldn't take my case because their are so many bigger cases involving sponsors that don't follow the rules that they need to concentrate on. Sad that companies can get away with this. Hopefully something bigger and better will come your way soon.
