Our walmart is currently changing to a supercentre walmart, so last week when I went to get the $1 ultra's they had none and no $1 jars
so tonight I went and when I first walked in they had a big display of the sprays and jar candles so I grabbed my $15 worth (15) and proceeded shopping. Then I found the ultra's on for $1 too. yay so I did some rearranging and got 3 ultra, 4 sprays and 8 jar candles = $15-10 coupon = $5 for 15 items or .33 cents a piece
When I first started loading up the cart my husband thought i was nuts! He asked me' What? do you have a coupon?' I smiled and said yup. and walked away. On the way home he said my pile in the linen closet is too big. He told me I had too much stuff
I told you should see pics of others people's piles. I also told him he should be happy I have a stockpile because then I dont have to pay regular price when I run out anymore. Just wait till Oct when I move to my new house
muhahahahahaha the stockpile will be much bigger

Burkey- what do you tell your husband ?Do you have a big stockpile. I have the floor of the linen closet and thats it. And most of the stuff I am saving for my new house.
My husband was so loving it before. He was bragging to all his friends about it, then tonight he changed.

I get teased, but overall, DH is pretty supportive of the coupon thing. Does he think I'm nuts when he sees my stash? Prolly a little.
...which is why I'm forced to have a stash...and then a SECRET stash.
muhahahahahahaha
He certainly doesn't mind it when he thinks he's run out of something.

Congrats on getting a new house! I bet you're looking forward to a "stockpile room". We only have an apartment but DH built me a 4-door pantry for my stockpile
. But it didn't have room for diapers, wipes, toilet paper, and paper towels. Those are still in the solarium, about 4 feet high and 4 feet across.

I am going to have a whole unfinished basement, a large walk in pantry, a linen closet,a shelf above the washer and dryer and 2 coat closets ( the back one is going to be made in to a storage aread for my daughter's toys. Oh I am so excited about the storage. Right now we have 4 people in like a 800 sq ft apartment
All my savings helped us get this house. to get approved we had to pay off a $10,000 loan in 7 months, we did it in 4

Thanks everyone, I feel better now. Sometimes I wonder if I am a hoarder. You can walk through every room and see the floor.

I really dont think I am . I am ok with throwing things away if it really is junk and if someone throws something away by accident I dont get upset. you see those hoarders on tv and they throw a margarine container away and they go crazy.

Ya lol. I showed my DH a video online off of one of those hoarding shows...he immediately took back what he said. Lol. I think he likes the couponing and just doesn't want to admit it

Thats awesome, WTG!
We live in 1 bed apt so space is limited for stash but I have a "store" at mom's garage/basement, hehe
LOL, we watch the Hoarders show too sometimes & not even close to that!
Hey! As long as we save & its a good deal, better for us!
Never paying full price again is priceless!

I dunno...There's a big difference between "hoarding" something that you're definitely gonna use and "hoarding" something because you think you might need it someday but really won't. (I haven't seen the tv show...but oh my heavens...magazine wrappers?)
My father-in-law can't let things go. He's got stuff stored that he bought 5 or 10+ years ago at a garage sale or where-ever because it was a good deal, but he's never used it.
We went to him once when we were young and had just moved out on our own and we didn't have a pot to pee in...lol. He had a phone in his basement that we really needed, because we couldn't afford to buy one ourselves (lol. yeah, we were THAT broke) and this phone had been sitting there collecting dust for 2 years already. So when we asked him if we could have it, he said, "I can't give you THAT! I'm going to use that!" Needless to say, he never did use it once and the only thing we got from that experience was a running joke between DH and I.
I have a 1-year rule for stuff-- if it's something I won't use up over the next year, I don't buy it. Doesn't matter HOW good the deal is--because if it sits for more than a year in my house, I would've been better off putting that money in a savings account...and the reality is, the "deal" will likely come up again at some point.
Same goes for most "stuff." I will save clothes that one kid has outgrown for the next one, but I usually go through a spring clean of the wardrobe and the house and if it hasn't been used or worn in a year, chances are, it's not ever gonna be, so it gets carted off to the goodwill or freecycle. Can't say that I've ever been in a position where I missed the thing I got rid off either.
ooohhh MommyMelanie....new finished basement with stash storage. Post pics when it's done!!!! I wanna see!!!!
