Facebook denies making phone numbers public


I just checked this out and it's crazy. I had to delete everyone's number. The only problem is if I tried to delete people on my account's number it wanted me to delete them..

I guess it is true anyone can access your information.

I never have put my phone number on facebook. But this is nothing new, when you signed up on your options you can post your celll choose who to share it with or not post it at all.

To me this is not a breach of security of any kind. If you chose to share your cell number with friends on facebook then thats just what it does.....

It kinda seems like they nothing to write about so their trying to make a big deal outta this.

Phone numbers are kinda publoc anyways, you know canada411.ca

Just don't post personal information like that? I don't even have my city listed. I use a separate email account that doesn't have anything personal attached to it. Seems simple.

Reminds me of a customer once said to me in regards to a contest my company was holding "yea I'll bet they want my phone number, address and email address"...umm yea, how else will they contact you if you win? Dolt.

Yes, Ive always been able to see my friends cell numbers if they choose to share them. I dont have a phone number listed, never have. It was quite clear everyone on your friends list could see your cell if you listed it. Just like you have the option to share your email with your friends or only certain ones.

You can turn that option off I have my cell attached to get notifications via text but I hid my number. I logged into Sparky's acct to make sure my number didn't show and voila

Since most of my FB frinds are people I don't know IRL but share common intreasts with I never bothered to put any personal info out there. Even my e-mail is not my main e-mail which I use for family and friends.

I've been kicking around the web in the late 1980's and I'm paranoid about having TMI out there.
