hm.... though I like Samuel, it's biblical, so that's why I didn't list it...
Others I would have included -
Luc/Luke/Lucas
Mark/Marc
Caleb
Laurier - same pronunciation in English and French
Omar
Etienne (variant of Stephen)
Alton
Matteo
Nathan
Nelson
Ronan
Ryland
Bryant
Remember - watch out for initials of all three names together.
My two tests for naming children -
1. Picture the name on a business card - for any type of job, doesn't matter if it's a lawyer or a plumber.
2. Go to your front door, open it, stick out your head, and yell....
"Johnny, dinnertime, Johnny.. ... Johnny, dinnertime..."

I wouldn't worry, sometimes it's fun to not know, and pick the name when you meet the baby, at least for me.
WIth all 5 of my kids we didn't pick names until after they were born at the hospital. With my twins (my first kids) we had an idea going in with names with liked, but totally changed our mind after they were born. Our oldest's sons name was both our favourite name for a boy growing up, but it is so unusal we weren't sure if we would use it. We did.

We've always waited until we saw the baby to make the final name decision.
Someone suggested Milo and that's really cute.
What about:
Gabriel
Vincent
Vance
Remy
or is you like Eric but think it's a little dull, you could change the spelling, like Erik or Erich.
Good luck

We had a hard time choosing DS' name too...there were so many names that we both liked, or disliked, and finally we sat down and decided.
My family is also French, so it was hard to find something that could be said in both languages, but we decided to pick an english name, and a French middle name, which for us was harder to decide on then his first name! lol
How about:

It will come to you. My son's name is Colby Matthew. We knew that was what it was going to be beforehand and it fits. Plus back then, I'd never met another Colby. My middle child's name is Kelsey Paige. It suits her. I wish now that I had spelled it a tad differently. My baby was supposed to be Kamryn Elizabeth. We had that name picked out all along but then she was born and my Hubby decided she should be named Courtnee Ryan(that name wasn't even on my radar) and so it was.
You'll take a look at him and a name will come to you.

We have similar criteria...but I insist on 7 letter names! LOL
Xavier
Matthew (I know technically biblical but it's so common I don't think people really think of it as biblical)
Spencer (I LOVE this name but I can't find a good way to pronounce it in french If you can I am all ears!)
Alexander
Steven (my son is Stephen because it had to be 7 letters! LOL)
Joshua
Matteo
Mark
