    So, as some know, DH was laid off May 2009. I've been on mat leave since late Aug with our third child, so times have been hard here.

    DH got called back to work this Monday - huge relief!

    While he was off he did side jobs for extra cash (we are all aware how well EI pays). He worked for less than min wage doing yard work, house work, roofing and others. (He even painted his rugby clubs club house this year - in and out - for his dues.)

    So, last night one of the gentlemen he's worked for calls and asks him if he would like his "old" deck. He unscrewed the whole thing, he wants it gone today. It's about $4,000 in wood alone...for FREE (well, he ended up asking DH to come dig out the dandelions on his only day off, but hey who's complaining?)

    This really could not have happened at a better time. We need to sell the house and one of the things the real estate agent told us to do was make a deck. We were going to max out a credit card I have for emergencies to buy the stuff this week!!

    How crazy is that that he called and offered it? The deck was only two yrs old!!

    That's my brag....super pumped.

    So happy for you ! I know what its like to have DH laid off. Mine was laid off from right after Christmas 2008 til September 2009.....it was soooooooooooo hard! Glad to see someone out there is watching out for u!
