so i went to walmart tonight with my 2 girlfriends for a fun friday night filled with shopping with coupons!
our orders were not huge at the checkout (2 grocery bags filled each) but we always make sure we organize it very well to avoid as much confusion and frusteration as possible... the cashier warned everyone in line behind us that we had coupons and pricematches and it will be a while.. people lined up anyways and after just 5 minutes the customers behind us got restless... one angry man made the following comments:
"you know you should cut your coupons out at home not in line..." (i dont know what he was talking about but i kindly replied that they were all cut out and organized *with a smile on my face*)
"if we have to wait any longer we will have to buy a mattress"
there were some other things that were muttered by different customers behind us that i didnt hear very well. in total our three orders took 15 mins to ring through and when we were finally finished some smart....bum people started cheering and yelling "FINALLY they are done!" it is very annoying and the worst part was when i got home i thought of something to say to these people... i will share my speech with you in case anyone gets caught in the same situation......
"noone is forcing you to stand in this line, and frankly i have just as much right to be shopping here as you do...i am doing nothing wrong here and just because you prefer to pay full price does not give you any right to be rude to me. i have been very conciderate and organized everything to make this as quick as possible, but if you cant appreciate that i can be a hell of a lot slower!"
now for the brag part... my total purchases came up to $30.89 and i ended up walking away ahead $1.03 (after i send in a $5 MIR for the finish)
sorry this is so long... i had to rant to people that would understand what u have just been through :pThis thread is currently associated with: Walmartmy facebook contest page! add me

Very nice shopping. Don't let rude customers get to you, there will always be people like that out there and we will never change them. I simply say "I work to hard for my money, and the more of it I can keep, the better I like it" I find most times, people are nice, especially if I can find a coupon for them to use. Great job!!!

That sucks, it is so annoying when people behind us in line make the choice to stay and then choose to get angry... I can definitely feel your pain..
I always try to start a sort of game of telephone, (unless I have an awesome cashier) the person behind me passes on the message to the person behind that I have loads of coupons.. (the ones who choose to stay)..
Last time I had to start a game of telephone we ended up waiting about half an hour while all the coupons were "confirmed not to be photocopy's etc; Ugh") but in the end when I got payed like $0.10 everyone behind me in line were cheering (in a good way!) and I was very happy.. I ended up tearing up a receipt and directing the crowd to SC, someone suggested I set up a coupon training business (if I had been brave enough I would have spoken up and offered a class for everyone)

I always tell ppl behind me that I am using LOTS of coupons,, most stay others leave... if they growl,,, too bad,, I have told ppl the second time I was using coupons,,, the next line is like 2 ppl waiting but they still stay.... If they still growl..oh well, they will just have to suck it up...But when i'm done, and pay pennies I turn and smile at the rudest, and say my money is in my pocket YOURS won't be...

You should have put up the Coupons In Use sign (the one made for a fellow SC'er). That would have made them even happier!!! LOL

I usually try to keep my couponing to 12 items of less (if I'm not buying multiples) and go to the multi cashier line...this way there is never anyone behind me and the line will still move becuase other cashiers are working the line, I just find its less stress for me and the cashier
