Okay, wait....am I reading this correctly?
$4600 for the year, or x-number of months?
We've wintered in Florida, Orlando, a bit on the pricey side, but the cities a bit north or inland are much better bargains...we've also heard that south Texas is nice....what about Arizona? Too far? The Carolinas?

It depends how warm you want it. The north of Florida can be quite cool but not snowy. There are places around the St. John River which is inland and more reasonable. There are also lots of mobile home parks - many of which have mobile homes which people want to rent out as they are no longer able to make the trip to Florida. I spent the winter in Tampa a few years ago. - Very nice weather. Lots of mobile home parks in Pinellas County near Clearwater and St. Petersburg.

Wow!!! Now I'm proud of him, too!!!!!!!
I remember one story about someone asking von Richthofen what else he needed for his next flight, and he simply said, "A spitfire." I don't know why, but that story stuck with me...but then again...there likely isn't a war movie I haven't seen...even the entire "The War" series!
I hope you find him a nice, warm home....
Have you looked through here?

and since then allister has sold their home and moved into a
senior ish place, and although he is in charge of the county's orchestra, he seems
bored.
