Just had a look and it appears they sent out last week's offers again by mistake as it's the "03" image that came up when I clicked on it.
This week's should be:
http://www.safeway.ca/emaildirect/of...ct_04_2009.pdf
safeway.ca/emaildirect/offers/emaildirect_04_2009.pdf
Changing the "04" above to "05" around Thursday night should bring up next week's offers.

I think you wouldnt get airmiles with buying the gift card (ex buying a $100 gift card won't give him $100 airmiles) but if you buy the gift card for multiple transactions the process will go faster, no need to make change, sign, or enter a pin 5 times...

The granola 90 calorie crunchers are on sale for $2 each.
These qualify for the Save $4 when you buy 4 quaker products from save.ca
So you can get 5 for $6 and get 20 Air Miles in the process

I wasn't confident about this either, although the two cashiers I asked said they WERE valid for airmiles accumulation [though you wouldn't get 100 airmiles, just the 5 as normal]. I haven't the energy to dig up my reciepts to confirm against the airmiles I was credited.
In either case, the time it saves me and the ease of use when purchasing multiple deals on different reciepts is worth it!!I'd love for you to take a look at my shop! Handmade fine jewellery: high quality, reasonable prices, locally made [by me!]

gup,
Thanks,
I've never had a problem with multiple offers on a single receipt except on the email.direct where you have to read the small print.
If it's a flyer offer Buy 5 Get 50 on Kraft (for example) and I buy 15 in the same purchase/same receipt I get 50 x 3 = 150 AirMiles.
With the email.direct you have to be careful. For example this week's email.direct has a B1G20AMs on chicken. The small print reads:
Limit one bonus offer
Buy 1 and you get 20 AMs
Buy 2 and you still only get 20 AMs not 40 AMs.
This week's email.direct is a bit confusing though. For example the Pizza is B2G20AMs.
The small print is again Limit one bonus offer but it also says Household Limit 4. So if you buy 4 do you get 20 or 40 AMs. Clearly if you buy 6 the most AMs is 40 not 60.

Operabob: I just phoned safeway about that question and they said base, and bonus airmiles (buy $100 get 100am) do not apply to any gift card purchase...
There is one exception though, Safeway at times has gift card promotions (buy $25 in gift cards get 15am, buy $100 in gift cards get 50am, etc) then buying gift cards would be worth it.

I use the restaurant gift cards and besides to AirMile bonus get to write-off 50% of the meals.
Some Safeways have gas bars so the gift cards might work there. However, I seem to recall Safeway gift cards are specifically ineligible for the bonus. Not sure though.
Alternative is to get the Shell coupons but I don't believe you can get them at Safeway so no bonus there. Also, Shell $20 coupons are one of the poorest AirMile offers clocking in at $0.1143/AM.

I usually end up getting the $20 shell coupons from airmiles, I know the dollar ammount is low for the airmiles given, but the thing is Gas is one of the only things from airmiles.ca I actually need, but I may be getting some delta hotel certificates for this summer, much better than shell @ $0.14 per AM.
On a side note... While at the safeway gas bar the ad above the pump said that gift card purchases count towards a your fuel discount (exeptions are visa and safeway gift cards)... if you buy $100 gift cards that knocks 7 cents off the posted price, if you buy $200 of gift cards that knocks 10.5 cents off the posted price... so if there ever is another gift card airmile special keep this in mind...
