Safeway TP are $6.99, buy 2 get 50 AM. I got a coupon in my mailer, buy 2 get 40 AM. Combined, this is a pretty good deal.

I used a B2G20 mailer on Breton Crackers. Usually these are high priced at Safeway but they had them on for $2.50. Best I've seen elsewhere is$1.99. With the AirMiles it took them to $1.17 each so I'm ahead 2 x $0.82 = $1.64 on those. I also had a B2G$0.75 coupon.

    Also, they had a B4G20 on Pantene Shampoo and I got a mailer for B2G20 @$4.49 each: higher price + less AMs but I used two B2G$2.50 coupons so pre tax ($17.96 - $5 coupons - $5.32 AMs)/4 = $7.64/4 = $1.91 effectively each so I figure I came out ahead there.

Also used a B1G20 on house brand low-salt bacon. Half the AMs offset Safeway's the higher price.

They also had a 50% OFF mailer on Astro yogurt. It was on sale for $2.50 so no AMs but fresh yogurt for $1.25 is awesome. Yogurt is one area Safeway competes very well in against other chains. Thrifty's sometimes beats Safeway on yogurt but they never have the no-Fat on special.

OK, Kellogg's cereal is B3G40 in the email.direct, however, the flyer has Kashi as:

    5/3.17

So you should be able to double dip and get 90AMs for 3. On average:

    $15 - 9.90 AMs = $5.10 or $1.70 each.

If the $1 coupons are still good = $0.70 each.

If you trade for BW GCs and use coupons = $0.01 each!!!!

The free cheese is when you buy 3 Kashi crackers.

Heard it was there but I only just got notice that Best Western has their "Stay 3 Seperate Times and Get a Free Night" offer on again.

I do have 3 separate stays coming up for the next 3 weeks, 5 nights total. Those three stays will earn enough for a free night with BW's Points Rewards program plus I'll get the offer above. 2 Free nights. Gotta Luv Loyalty Programs if you know how to work 'em.

Also, I have to buy flowers for someone in the US. Looked at AirMiles flower sponsor = 1AM/$20 spent.

Then I remembered BW has a flower sponsor. The prices were considerably cheaper plus 25 BW points/$1 spent.

    $60 on flowers = 1,500 BW points

You only need 8,000 points for the cheapest room. So $60 on flowers gets almost 1/5 of a room or about $15 value vs. $0.33 for over-priced flowers at AirMiles.

Now if you trade BWR points for GCs on their site I recall it's 6,500 pts = $25.

    So $60 on flowers = 1,500 BWR pts. = $5.77 worth of a $25 GC vs. AMs $0.33.

If you're an Elite member (10 nights in 1 calendar year) GCs drop to 6,250-6,300 BWR pts.

    2 Free nights.
Gotta add as I'm on a roll:

    1. The free nights do not collect bonus points.

    2. Free nights do not count as nights towards Elite or Platinum status.

However! I have learned that if you phone and ask why your free night doesn't appear in your account the CSRs will cite rules 1 & 2 but if your nice they will skip rule 2 and credit you with a night.

I made Elite for this year and with skipping rule 2 should get Platinum this year.

Elite accumulates 10% more BWR pts. Platinum 15%.

Also, if you're a member of BCAA/CAA/AAA you get a 10% bonus and the lowest hotel rate.

Plus they are always emailing 500 & 1,000 BWR bonus points for "Your Next Stay".

Using BW GCs count as cash so you get all the bonuses. Booking a room through AirMiles would not get the bonuses IMO.

Wow I am fairly new to the air miles game, and I must say you are an AIRMILES ROCKSTAR! You sure have this program figured out! I am so impressed!

The balance has to be $100 after coupons have been rung in.

Have you tried to use the BW giftcards for something else in the hotel besides the hotel room charges? I.e. use them for hotel gift shop purchases, which may be selling other giftcards?

Yes, you should get the bonus Airmiles when you use FPCs.

Also, if you read Safeway's coupon policy, if I recall correctly you can only use one coupon per BOGO yet the cashiers never know when an item is BOGO so hand 'em coupons for each item and 99.99% of the time they'll just ring 'em in.

Also, there are BOGO coupons in this week's Smart Saver newspaper insert on Windex triggers which come up regularly as an AM offer.
