Just got the Shell GC yesterday - but my son has already took it with him; I thought I could help out by giving you the wording, but no....

It's not a giftcard, per se, it looks like a cheque - thought that was a bit odd....

that is a very interesting idea...so if you buy say $60 worth of gas and say $100 worth of giftcards you would get

    3 * 10 = 30 for the gas (using $20 for each airmile?)
    5 * 10 = 50 for the gc (using $20 for each airmile?)
    = 80 AMs

wonder what type of GCs they have there
    Careful Hor,

They changed their redemption rate awhile back to 1 AM on the first $20 and 1 AM for every $30 after.

So you'd get 3 AMs normally or 30 AMs on a 10Xs purchase of $80.

Least that's how I read it.

They have all sorts of different GCs, many I don't see at Safeway. The larger gas stations have a wider selection. I've bought Burger King and Subway Cards there.

    Natie,

Yes, it's a certificate for Shell and then there are GCs for different businesses you can buy in the gas station store.

    Shell Retail
You'll earn 1 AIR MILES® reward mile on your first $20 purchase including fuel and 1 reward mile on each additional $30 spent in the same transaction at participating Shell retail locations.
This is what is misleading about the current 5Xs offer. It says "minumum $40 fuel" but unless you spend $50 total you'd only get 1 AM x 5 = 5AMs worth about worth about $0.50.

Buying gas at a food store gas bar offering 3.5 cents/liter would save you about $1.20 - $1.50.

Got my personal Safeway coupons in today's Air Miles regular mail. The Safeway information mentions that E-Auction will be returning in the spring. Yay!

The usual ones from Air Miles, targeted for the products you usually buy. I'm pretty sure you've gotten them before, plus I think last time you got them in email as well.

Mine include buy 2 Safeway TP, get 40 AM.
Buy 4 Lean Cuisine, get 40 AM.
Earn 5x AM with a min $60 Grocery Spend.
    Etc.

I can confirm the 5Xs valuations at Shell.

My wife got $40 worth of fuel and 5 AMs only. (Small tank)

    I got $50 fuel and 10 AMs.

Shopped today at Safeway and got 355AM's. 4x Purex TP for 100 AM's and then the spend $100 get 250 AM's coupon in the flyer. Good for the 2 Red Deer locations.

Felt good about the shop. I redeemed last week almost all of my AM's on Best Western GC's. They were out of the $100 ones but had the $150 in stock. I almost have enough now to get 1x $100 if there is stock avaliable. I think I will just keep redeeming for the GC's when I get enough each time.

Phew! I needed a few more airmiles to get the Best Western $150 travel card and with my spending on my Mastercard last month, I got to 1126, the card requires 1125 so I'm down to a whopping 1 air mile right now!

    2 TP
    3Xs the cookies (sugar free)

    $22

    Picked up 141 AMs = approx $15.50 ($18.75 BW)

Oh and I used the remainder of the $100 Safeway GC I got in the previous auction so it all cost me nothing!

Having trouble with my desk top and might be traveling tomorrow morning so will probably be late getting the info up but there's very little this week anyway. Hopefully the email direct will be better.
