Reminder.. you also get 2x Shell Air Miles if you use your BMO Gold Mastercard to pay. So for your $50 spend, you would get 6 AM from your credit card as well.

I don't really pay attention to air miles that much. Can someone tell me if the royale buy 5 get 100 air miles this week is a good deal for the paper towels? They are $6.99 for 6. Not sure if that is a super good deal, but then you get the air miles??? I have no clue?

So let's break it down. Royale 12 double rolls is often on sale for 5.99. It's on a super sale at Walmart. $4.47 (lowest I have seen out west)

And there are coupons - the new $2 off coupon via Facebook (request period is over) or $1 from websaver

So let's look at Safeway's deal:

    You buy 5, so each one get 20 airmiles * 10 = $2.00 if you're buying gas
    for example.

    6.99 - $2 = 4.99 - the actual cost of the TP.

So this is almost as good as Walmart.

If you use coupons ($1) at either store, the deal gets better.

    So a decent deal.

thanks giving-small. The Royale TP is on sale for $5.99 actually so according to your calculations $5.99-$2 (assuming gas)=$3.99 (I didn't include the $1 or $2 coupon cause I would use the coupon at Walmart or Safeway.) I guess that means Safeway is a better deal than Walmart! thanks!!
that being said...I was wondering about the paper towels which are $6.99 for 6. I don't know how much they are normally and whether it is a good deal in general, and then add in the air miles part...

Considering the AirMiles and ignoring the coupons.

At $6.99 you get 20 AMs

    20 AMs = $2.20 approx. ($2.29 if you use $0.1143/AM for GCs0r $2.67 @ $0.133/AM for BW Certificates)

    So the comparable price at Safeway is $6.99 - $2.20 = $4.79

So if you can beat $4.79 elsewhere then buy elsewhere.

The value for the other two valuations are:$4.70 and %$4.32.

Generally, I look for paper towels elsewhere as I seem to recall getting house brands in the $0.70-$0.80 per roll range ($4.20 - $4.80). Same for tissue as you can get SDM, etc. at $0.69/box = $4.14 per 6 pack. Usually the house brands have more tissues as well.

However, if you're after a quality product this iis comparable on the towels. On the tissues I'm inclined to pass.

I usually buy my facial tissue at SDM too. As for the TP, I am pretty stocked for now, but the paper towels is something I just don't know the price of so was curious. Thanks for all your help. I really appreciate it!!!

I recently received a letter from BMO stating that beginning on March 1st, customers using their BMO Gold Mastercard will now only receive 1.2X the Air Miles for using this credit card, not 2X. Not a big difference, but it is another indication that the program is declining. Too bad!

as far as points cards go... my husband is obsessed with capital one! I thought they were mostly for people who had bad credit, but he looked into them all... aeroplan, avion, aerogold, airmiles... apparently capital one has just opened in Canada so they are trying to get some of the market share. You do pay for the card, but the points/$ value is better than any other out there....just throwing it out there.

Used about half my special mail out coupons today and picked up 84 AMs on a $27 spend.

Using AMs towrds BW GCs it's worth $11.17 to me.

Factoring in Safeway's higher prices I'm still at least $9 ahead.

    P. 1 updated

Nothing truly outstanding but a few OK ones especially if you can combine with coupons.

Contrast the two pizza offers. The Piazza's Pizza seems pretty good but I don't know for quality. T

    The yogurt is OK.

The Lysol BOGOs might be good especially if you have any coupons.
