Sort of an AM follow up...went to my local stores yesterday to buy the Nestle chocolate packs to give out for last night (and hoped to score AM with the coupon), but they were sold out. The reason I picked Nestle's is that they have Aeroplan codes inside (my miles from last years trip are set to expire shortly). Anyhow, trundled down this morning and got a few half price (of course who pays full price the day after halloween)...anyhow, now have codes to keep my account and miles active, even if I don't fly AC this year. So it all evens out, and even gets better...now if only I can get a seat sale to Vegas--price I paid last year 525$...now 800$...ah well...it could be worse.

Where are you located? Air Miles may be a better deal for trips to LAS. And if you can book them on United or Air Canada you'll earn Aeroplan on the flights.

Good point, Ron, but it's kind of axiomatic--3,700 AM plus taxes (200$-ish) in theory, but it's besides the point--did check out the AM site and of course, there were no flights available. If we use the OB conversion formula, the AM price of around $600 is not that much cheaper, especially considering what it cost to get those AM's
