Does Safeway have Shell cards? It doesn't show on their list online.

Hi Airmiles gurus!
i started collecting airmiles a few days ago and i have a question about airmiles. I noticed that these days they are offering a promo for "spend $30 airmiles get 30 back". My question is do they keep offering promos like this all year long or is it just their christmas/festive promo thing?
If they keep offering things like this, it is very worth it to get serious about collecting airmiles.

I have seen these promos from time to time through the year-perhaps not all this generous-but it is a good time to cash your airmiles when these happen.

Think this is the 3rd one I've seen in the last 2-3 months.
- Oct (approx) - spend 95AM ($10) get 25 AM, no limit on # of transaction/bonus
- Nov (Black Friday) - spend 95AM ($10) get 25 AM, no limit on # of transaction/bonus
- Dec (Dec 4 - 18) - spend 190AM ($20) get 20AM or spend 285AM ($30) get 30AM, LIMIT 1 Bonus Per Day
Welcome to the Airmiles thread! Feel free to ask any questions. We have lots of serious AM collectors hereLast edited by engo; Thu, Dec 4th, 2014 at 05:16 PM.

I noticed in the Safeway flyer today they are giving 100 AM when you spend $200 on gift cards (not including Safeway), 150 AM when you spend $300 on gift cards and 250 AM when you spend $400 on gift cards. Valid Dec 5-11/14.

One of the better types of these offers is when they give you a rebate for cashing in Airmiles. For example, Thrifty's last week had a Cash 95 AMs Get 25 AMs which effectively boosts the value of an Airmile from $0.105 to $0.143.
While the cash value is $0.105/AM you can actually get higher values on Air Flights.
TIP: Don't book hotels or car rentals with AirMiles. They recently changed the process and are now charging usurious fees to do so. There are better ways to spend your AMs.
As to value, on occassion you can actually get paid to shop at Safeway if you account for the AM values. I regularly beat Wal-Mart prices when accounting for Airmiles when shopping at Safeway.
