Hi everyone,
New to the site and have been reading as much as I can to learn the ropes.
Every year at my office, we put together a Christmas hamper for a needy family. After seeing how successful my friend was at couponing, I thought it would be a perfect way to add to the hamper. I've decided to try and fill the one hamper at work and two others on my own with everyday needs such as shampoo, toothpaste, soap, cleaning products etc.. items that are needed by families year round. While I knew that financially I could not afford to supply three hampers on my own, after seeing my friend's couponing success, I knew that I could give of my time to make this project work.
I've already started and have a number of coupons on hand. Any thoughts, suggestions and help anyone can provided will be greatly appreciated! This thread is currently associated with: N/A

I too am trying to build up our stockpile for the two hampers that we donate to every year. Of course, the more you can get for free, the better. Try calling some manufactors (Colgate, Aveeno, etc.) and they are usually generous in sending coupons your way. Then you can match them up with sale prices. You can also go to the freebie tab and request samples. Alot of times samples come with coupons (as the company is trying to promote a new product) and you can purchase the product for a very reasonable price. Purex just did this and attached a coupon for $3.00 off, what followed was a series of stores having it on sale for $3.00 or less so it was free (I stocked up for my hampers). Sad to say the Purex freebie is expired but you never know, might be more to come. Hope this helps and way to go BTW!

Welcome to Smart Canucks Josiekat. Nice that you are putting together those hampers.
Next week or so is Walmart's Anniverary Sale and there are usually some great deals to match up your coupons. Most Walmarts take the RCSS coupon zone coupons so that may help. The clearance sections at your local stores are good places to match up your coupons. Many Dollarama stores take coupons and some SCs have found great deals there. Canadian Tire's Saturday door crashers on the front page, are good deals with our without coupons.
Hope this helps.

Welcome to Smart Canucks! First off, start collecting coupons more. Both in-store and online, you wouldn't believe how that one "soap coupon that i don't need" can help! Go to the deals section here to find great deals, and weekly coupon match ups! http://forum.smartcanucks.ca/canadian-shopping-deals-flyers/
Hope I helped!
