So, I went to Fritz Kaiser Farm in Noyan today to get really dirt cheap and super fresh cheese. (2.5 kg of REALLY fresh cheese for 18$) On my way back I had the mission to find jars before I got home. (since I really needed some to make my pickling) So I stopped at every garage sales, flea markets and church bazaars on the way back. I asked, at every stop, do you guys have Mason jars? To be answered no every time.
Then I took a wrong turn that turned out to be really fruitful. Instead of taking the side of the water in Saint-Jean I crossed to bridge into Iberville. Just as I realised I was going the wrong way (again not listening to our GPS) I saw a sign '' Bazaar church basement from 9:00 to 4:30''. Of course it was 4:45. So i figured I would not find my jars today. As I I turned around I saw people packing up their stuff. I told my husband let's stop and ask anyway. Well god and behold they had jars and guess what, they only wanted 2$ a case..
All happy my hubby says I'll take them all, before even asking what ''ALL'' meant...
Well my dear Scers I am now the proud owner of 312 jars.. yeah yeah your read correctly 312 jars....
for the grand total of 40$.....Just barely under 13 cents a jar...
So that was my brag for today... Now to my pickling....
here is the picture of all my amazing jars.. I guess I will now be sharing with my MIL...hahahaha!

Woohoo! I think this qualifies as a recycling brag - mason jars are the ultimate in environmental responsibility, we use them over and over. Yay!

I can`t stop laughing, 312 jars now that is alot of pickling! Great find, new jars are so darn expensive!

I am envious. My mother used to preserve food in mason jars but she never showed me how to do it. I am scared to death to attempt canning in case I poison my family!
