Tonight I made the spring rolls using the rice paper...they were good but plese use parcment paper not foil haha it was a mess to remove and half the roll was missing hahaha

I bought O'Dough's 4pm fozen flax pizza crust..WOW it comes with 4 square pizzas (personal size) and 4 packets sauce. It was so yummy and chewy loved it. Found it at my local grocers in the frozen setion for 10 bucks!

Well, Ladies..if I ever had any doubts that gluten hurts my tummy, they're fully erased now!
We were babysitting our grandson yesterday, since our DD and her DH went to his cousin's cottage for the day, and we spent a lovely day with him. He's such a joyous 2-year old!
Anyhoo...what to do for dinner? We were in Costco with him and I saw the beef tortellini. Well, it was all downhill from there...I said, that's what I want and he said but it'll hurt you and I said the 'heck' with it, I don't care I just want to eat something normal again. (Normal meaning something I used to enjoy and can't anymore)
So we went back to their home, I cooked it up, tossed it with a nice chunky spaghetti sauce, and we had our quick dinner and our grandson loved it!
After his bath and bedding down, we sat in the livingroom and I said, see? No problem. Maybe it was just something I was going through. Really??!!
Omg....just about that time, I felt that old familiar clenching crampy pain in my tummy and folded my arms across my lower tummy to help myself feel better. He immediately knew that position and asked if I was hurting. Oh, yeah, baby! I was hurting!!
The kids got home around 9pm and we went home and I went straight to bed with my book.
This morning.....I felt pretty okay, so I had a "normal" cereal for breakfast. My hubby found Corn Pops on sale at FoodBasics yesterday and brought them home for me and read out the ingredients. Seemed fine, although I questioned the 'oat flour'. But...I can eat steel cut oatmeal, so what's the problem?
Well, you tell me! I don't know if I'm still feeling crampy because of the dinner last night, or did I do it to myself again??!!
I wanted to take the day and go shopping, but I doubt I'll leave the house today. I just feel like all I want to do is lay in bed in a fetal position. Even typing this, my arms are close to the sides of my tummy to 'feel better'. But I don't.
Any thoughts as to why I feel like this today? I know I did myself in last evening by my own hand...but this morning?
Natalka, thank you, I would never have thought to look there for gluten-free foods. I've ordered from them as well, and the free shipping is wonderful! What a service they provide for people who can't leave their homes without some difficulty!!
Hope everyone is feeling better than I am today.....and thanks for any insight anyone can provide as to why I'm feeling this way this morning....

Lynn...corn pops rice krispes and other cereals havee Malt in them which is made from wheat! Its a big NO NO
if you want cereal you have to buy it from the organic section at the superstore they have a corn pops one it has a gorilla on it.

I know sometimes it gets hard, I want to eat the normal food too but when I think that eating gluten causes my small intestine to get ulcer like holes and it is released in my bloodstream which my body thinks is toxic therefor the pain happens and it can cause leaky gut syndrome (eww) I stay away! I found all this out in the book gluten free for dummies.

Vee, as usual your expert advice is MUCH appreciated by this gluten-free novice. I just looked at the ingredients on it, and it doesn't mention malt, but who knows what the heck is in it that can hurt. OR, it's still the residual feeling from last night.

I have Glutino "Cheerios" type cereal here...cinnamon..and it's really very good. I just wanted to cheat.
And look where it got me....

I think that maybe it's because I had to find out 'the hard way' that something like gluten would cause me so much grief (although my doctor confirmed that gluten intolerance is just one of "many" conditions that can mimic IBS or, conversely, be partnered in causing it. He said so many factors are involved in maintaining our 'well oiled machines', that it doesn't take much to set it off.). If I ever doubted it, I certainly don't now!

Thank you for that list, Vee...I printed off the "don't eat" list and it's stuck on our refrigerator, but this one certainly has a place reserved right beside it!

    Huggles, Sweetie...

oh lynn I did the same thing this morning/ last night. I woke up at 3am and I was starving, didn't want to wake up anyone and figure what the heck I am going to have this peice of cheesey garlic bread because it looks so good. (it was a loaf and I bought it for my mommy) Then I ended up laying in bed with a super painful tummy... it so wasn't worth it. But i figured maybe I would just sleep, didn't happen, fell back asleep at 9 am, I was just so tired.

Oh my Lynn sounds so familiar! I do this all the time--I am so sick of not eating regular food! Then I think one thing can't hurt..BOY can it ever and sometimes the cramps happen right away other times it seems to slowly get worse and worse . So the next day -yep-that happens Oat flour is a no no no! It is very processes and then acts like wheat in the gut. Some people with celiac can handle REAL oats like steele cut but I stay away from them too. I have been celiac for 4 years and it does not get easier--atleast not for me! Today I made banana bread-no sugar in it because the naturalpath put me on a strict diet for 3 weeks--which I am doing really terrible on! I cheat so much! Then beat myself up for it!
Ps I wish costco had GF products!--boy what a life that would be

THEY DO!!! I was just on a Canadian celiac website and a girl found gf granola bars there...since they change products often they bring in new stuff regularly and some are GF!
Also Costco wrote a letter to that girl and said they label gluten as one of there allergies. There bacon is GF!
They are working on a gf label so everything that contains no gluten will say gf on the package!
Its taking time but I think companies are working toward becoming gluten friendly! YAY

You know why they're burning their tires getting GF labels on everything? Because stupid movie 'stars' have decided it's now very chic to eat GF, and now every lemming is on the band-wagon....apparently it's THE new weight-loss magic pill!

HAH! If they thought other diets were tough, let's just see how everyone fares on this one!

The silver lining, though, is that more GF products will be in the marketplace for us!

Abby...when I feel like that I drink either peppermint or licorice tea. If I have fresh ginger on hand, I make fresh ginger tea...it apparently has qualities that help heal any nastiness we've done to ourselves by our 'normal food' cravings..

Vee...good news re Costco, though. I found their Kirkland brand tortilla corn chips the other day and had nachos for a treat this evening....feeling okay, but still feel that knock-out blow I gave myself with that pasta last night. You all know that feeling...you're okay now...but not really...

How the heck am I supposed to eat in Italy next month???!!!
It's all pasta this, and pizza that!! And I really really want their pasta and pizza!
