I never know why store like futureship or best buy always selling their High Speed HDMI that expensive, of course I know that a good cable can last for years but still, in my opinion most of the cables that sell at the market are overpriced, if you compared the price with the following link:

Honest to gosh, my techie son just buys the cheapest ones around, maybe $6?, and they work just the same, last as long.

the transfer speed is way faster on better quality but they will all work if you are using it for a blu-ray or ps3 then i would get a better quality, but there is HUGE markup on those

If there was a modest price difference between generic and brandname HDMI cables, I might be tempted to try out the higher end ones, but Monster brand cables (for example) are stupidly expensive. I don't buy no-name products too often, but in this case, I haven't found a huge difference in quality. Marketing is a large factor in this case, similar to Bose speakers, imo.

There's no difference about quality or speed. The electrons will go at the same speed in a cheap or highly expansive cable. If you ever happen to find HDMI cables at dollorama, go for it !

My bf buys all of his hdmi cables at the dollar store, he says there no point to get a expensive one if he can get it for a buck or two at dollarama

I saw a report on either W5 or The Fifth Estate.
They had their camera and sound guys test the high end vs. the reg price HDMI cable and found absolutely no difference.
Based on that, I'd tend to think it was just a marketing scam, just like many others are that are perpetrated on the consumer.

Sat, Oct 1st, 2011, 01:31 PM #9I am looking for many fpc coupons and willing to trade gift cards - especially stouffers and fresh produce. The expiry dates must be at least 1 month away. I'm also looking for betty crocker, pillsbury, philadelphia, nexxus, $3 beef, icecream, beans. I prefer large trades but have few coupons to trade.

it's all about the accessories.. thats where the mark up is and where the company makes the BIG bucks.. like going to the movies and buying popcorn
When life hands you Edward Cullen...throw him back and demand Eric Northman....
