Yup, that would be a good deal.
We actually found some 70% cocoa "chocolate bars" at Walmart.
It 's made in Belgium. We prepare it old school - heat the water, add a couple of squares of the bar, melt the squares and vanilla soy milk and heat again if not hot enough (brown sugar optional).
Yum.

On and on for a month or so.....21C is my lower limit. At least in fall and winter. In the summer I can keep it at 20....weird...

Have not put our furnace on yet... I just tell Chris to suck it up and put on warmer clothes! *LOL*
Right now it is 64 in the house, so not too bad... it has not dropped below freezing at night (yet!) so who knows when I will turn it on!
Chris sleeps in the basement so it is cooler down there but he has an electric blanket that he puts on to warm up and then turns it off before he goes to sleep... has not complained yet so it can't be too bad!Is it baseball season yet?

I have a window and the backdoor open right now and it's 15 outside!
I live in a three story townhouse and it get SO warm, the heat from being high up and from the neighbours place means I don't have to put the heat on for a while.

Our house gets a lot of exposure to light at various times of the day, so that affects the temperature inside quite a bit. We find that on average we can turn off the air conditioner in September and let the house do its own thing for the month of October and we turn the heat on officially in November when it really starts to get cold. We leave the heat on till March usually and let the house do its own thing for the month of April and depending on how hot it gets and how early we might not have to turn on the air conditioning till mid way through May. Our dog has a double coat, plus my DH has asthma aggravated by humidity so our air goes on fairly early, but so far as heat goes we can usually tough it out till November.

No need for a furnace here. I have 4 daughters at home (16,14,12 and 11) so my house is heated by hair dryers.

We havent turned ours on yet we usually shoot for Nov.1 or later. Been down to 13 a couple mornings but with slippers, a housecoat and a warm drink it works fine till the
DD gets back off school. She doesn't mind cool temps so its great. In the dead of winter we only set the temp on the thermostat to 18. Maybe we are stingy with the heat a bit but when a bill goes from $60- $240 in the winter for heat you try to adjust, lol.

I love this thread. Every year I see how long I can push it. So far it is still off & the house is sitting at 20. Until it hits 17 and stays there I say add a sweater. We also replaced the wood firplace last year with a gas fireplace so that will help me keep the furnace off longer. My 8 yr old is still sleeping in his boxers so it is not cold enough yet to turn on the furnace

I don't turn it on. My landlord does. It's already on. I'm not sure when it got turned on because the vents are on all the time to circulate air. I'm lucky because I'm always cold, but they don't skimp on heat at all here, so I've never been cold in my apartment. When I lived in a place where I had to pay for the electric heat, I was always cold because I couldn't afford to keep it on. I would just heat one room at a time.
