DH Scop with alittle rant first

First of all, I woke up with a sore throat. I think I should have stayed in bed, because it gets worst before it gets better,sort of. My DH and I drove to downtown Toronto, this morning becaue he won $1000.00 from 104.5 Chum fm. This was great, because of it all our bills would now be paid up to date, for the first time since I've off work. We when to deposit the cheque and decided to take my youngest son out for lunch. BIG mistake!!! My DH's bank card was copied by someone at the Harvey's at 1641 QUEEN ST. E. and by the time we got to Walmart, about an Hour and a half later they managed the withdraw $381.50. Thank Goodness the Bank the withdrawal as it was at a interact machine, in a corner store. Which we never do, because we are too cheep to pay the $1.50 service charge. They tried to withdraw another $100.00 but the bank froze the account.

I knew I should have stayed in bed. The bank now has to investigate, and hopely we'll have the money back by Friday, with still time to pay the bills


Now the good part!!

My DH and I still went to Walmart to pick up some last minute thing, from the anniversary sale. We had pick up cherry Kool-aid jammers the other day, because they didn't have my kids favorite flavour orange. But now the had the orange back in stock, so we decided to return the cherry for the orange. While in line at the return desk, my DH heard another person getting her money back on a box of chips, beacause the scan wrong. So after my DH exchanged the jammers, he went and checked the chips and sure enough the shelf label said $8.97 and they scanned at $9.97. So he asked if I wanted to get them, I said okay. The csm told the cashier to over rider the price for the lower amount, and my DH said no, their free because of the scop. So the cashier over rode them for free. I also found 5 boxes of the centrum, which I had $4.00 Off coupons for, so they only cost me $8.08, I hate tax.

Hopefully it will go well with the bank card. Sorry to hear you had to go through all that.

That sucks! Here in B.C a major scam happened and it happened with my mom's bank card. They withdrew just over 64,000 - over the internet somehow (she does not have online banking?) CIBC called us and froze all of our accounts for two weeks while they figured it out (she was given a temp. visa from the bank to put everything on) so I know what your going through! I hope it gets taken care of just like my mom's did. Thankfully she got it all back and you should too!

my sons card had it happen twice this summer to his card - it either was a gas station or a fast food restaurant- plus he was getting married so it was an inconvience- but he got it back too-way to go on winning the 1,000

i know how you feel my dh once had his card copied too but his was at the actual bank machine at td trust they managed to get some money out but then i guess they knew something was up and when they tried again at a diff't machine they wouldn't let it go through it took awhile but we did get the money back

I no how you feel I went to TO last fall and my bank card also got scammed so glad your bank is on top of things

Wow, thats awful about your bank card...hopefully they get it fixed asap!

This happened to us last Christmas & it was the interac at a convenience store bank machine that froze our account as well. I am too cheap to pay the fees but the bank was kinder when they suggested it was not a normal pattern so it ged the system to freeze the account. We had the money back within 10 days. See how being frugal has so many other advantages. I will no longer use debit at fast food places because of this.
