On a side note, the mailman didn't knock on the door, the only reason I knew he came was because I saw the truck pull up... with all the rain lately you'd think he'd at least knock.

I used to work for Canada Post (last year on-call) and the rule was that you are only supposed to leave the package at the door if there is a covered area that is hidden from other houses (like a porch with a railing) or if it fits between the door and the screen door if no one answers the door. Otherwise it's supposed to be carded and taken to post office. I don't have a covered porch or railing AND he didn't knock. grrr. Oh well I'm still happy to have it!

My CP guy leaves almost all packages in the lobby of the building where they frequently get stolen. Someone in our building stole some girls law book for university and she posted notes everywhere pleading someone return it for her exam.

They are totally not allowed to do that. The reason that they do is because if they have no parcels left then they don't have to make the extra trip to Shoppers or whatever postal outlet you collect carded parcels from. When that happens you should complain... complaints do get through, at the station where I worked us postal workers got in trouble personally for each and every complaint that was made. It goes on your record, and if there are enough complaints then some sort of action will be taken (suspension usually).

im in Toronto, and received mine yesterday
my parents got the post card notice yesterday (to be picked up at 5;00pm next day) and my dad went to the canada post to pick up the package today but it wasnt there.
so the guy told him to come back on monday, i wonder why the package isnt at the canada post, on the post card notice the packaged is to be picked up at 5pm and he went to get it after 5pm but it wasnt there. this never happens, im just hoping that the package is there on monday... if not, then seriously there is a problem...

My mom and I got ours yesterday in Scarborough and we're so happy with them! There was no regular mail delivery yesterday, so I was surprised when she emailed me. I didn't tell her it was for her, she just knew a box was coming and was so happy when she opened it!
